City of Industry, CA - September 23, 2000 - Hot off receiving awards and praises for their ultra-slim notebook (Soundx 7300) and in response to business professionals as well as high-end users, Sceptre introduces their latest CRT monitor line which seems to be another winner. These "DiamondFlat" CRT monitors come with a Diamondtron tube that provides superior quality and excellent screen performance. The D77D and D98D come with 16.1-inch and 18-inch viewable image screen that deliver great resolutions and refresh rates with bright, rich colors. They also contain one of the clearest picture qualities of any monitor in their class. These units provide super-sharp .25 dot pitches and deliver a horizontal frequency with a maximum refresh rate of 1600 x 1200 @ 76 Hz.
The
units are able to deliver exceptional, high performance outputs because of their
Diamondtron tubes. As in all of the flat screen designs, Diamondtron CRT's
apply a calculated polynomial curve to the internal screen surface and aperture
grille which, in essence, pre-distorts images. This compensates optically
for the refraction of light passing through the CRT glass that causes a concave
effect and results in high contrasting images with richer, brighter colors that
professionals demand. Also, the "DiamondFlat" screen provides
edge-to-edge distortion-free images with minimal eye fatigue. With the D77D
monitor at a street price of $399, Sceptre definitely stays competitive with
their pricing of the unit without sacrificing overall performance. The D98D
monitor is in production and is soon to follow.
Other Key characteristics of the monitors are their scanning rates of 30 to 96kHz (horizontal) and 50 to 160 Hz (vertical), and a bandwidth of 203 MHz +/- 3dB. The monitors come with on-screen controls for adjusting such aspects of the display as horizontal and vertical positioning, pincushioning and keystoning, and color temperature. The monitor is standard Plug and Play, exceeds MPR II Low Radiation requirements, and uses a 15-pin mini D-Sub dual connector. As with all Dragon Eye Series Monitors, the D77D and D98D are backed up by Sceptre's solid 5-year warranty.
