Sceptre Announces New ultra slim, ultra light

Digital Flat Panel Display at PC Expo in New York

California - Sceptre Technologies, Inc. one of the largest manufacturers of LCD flat panels, CRT monitors and notebook computers in the world – announced today at PC Expo in New York City a new generation of ultra thin and ultra light LCD flat panel displays. The Sceptre ST15, the latest addition to Sceptre’s digital line, offers the user a lighter and smaller form factor for a 15" screen size, produces a 1024 x 768 resolution image in XGA mode. The Sceptre ST15 Digital Flat Panel Display’s weight and thickness is about 50% less than comparable LCD panels. The Sceptre ST15 can be flush mounted to eliminate unsightly protrusions and permits installations in space restricted areas.

One of the biggest advantages of the Sceptre Digital Flat Panel (DFP) display is they allow a 100% digital connection. This simplifies the set up for the end user with Plug and Play and it also makes a better picture because there is no analogue to digital conversion. This also lowers the cost because of the simplified manufacturing. This lower price point will make it easier for the industry to migrate from conventional CRT monitors to DFPs.
With the digital card, the Sceptre ST15 offers exceptional display and high performance graphics capabilities. The Sceptre ST15 produces no radiation, is flicker and static free, consumes less power (30-70% less) and produces less heat (a mere 5-40° F) than a traditional CRT in a normal working environment.
As supporters of the Digital Flat Panel (DFP) initiative, Sceptre’s new digital flat panel displays will do their part in bridging the transition from traditional CRTs into a new era of digital flat panel displays. The Sceptre ST15 has a form factor measuring 13" W x 13" H x 4.9"D and weighing only 6.5 lbs.
