predominantly positive.
Our readers often praise this
product for its price. In general terms, some people describe this TV as
"worth the price and pricey".
People who disliked this
product use the words "disappointing". Though the supplied remote
received some bad comments, you can opt for a different universal remote to

Description: Have we
finally reached that point where truth and fiction intersect? Indeed, in many
ways, Sceptre has one-upped reality with this 37-inch LCD television. As
impossible as it seems, the 37SV-Naga LCD reveals a world of such depth,
brilliance and reality ? that it simply must to be real. Astonishing 1920 x
1080 WXGA resolution. Super MVA technology for wider viewing angles, 3D comb
filter, progressive scan. Enhanced HDCP HDMI and DVI port. 3:2 pull down.
Detachable speakers. All spectacular terms of visual art. How about 16:9 wide
screen aspect ratio? 600-nit brightness. 1000:1 contrast ratio. Blazing fast 8
ms response time? But it all comes down to what?s on the screen, doesn?t it?
For real television the way it?s meant to be seen?enjoy the Sceptre 37SV-Naga
37-inch television. Sceptre ? where slick design meets powerful performance?and
the only thing that?s blurred is that line between reality and fiction.

    Definitely
recommend
Pros: Native
1080p, for this price it can't be beaten! Looks great!
Cons: Speakers
are a little weak, but I expected that from reading other reviews. Not
too terrible, they do the job.
Other Thoughts:
I would definitely recommend, all of my friends are jealous!

    More
than I expected
Pros: Huge
screen, very sleek look. I expected the "1080i" claims to be somewhat
less true than they actually turned out to be. I am running high end
games on this beast and they look AMAZING! The detail does not suffer on
this screen. I havn't connected my cable box to it yet, but judging by
how it's performed so far, I'm very optimistic.
Cons: Speakers
are a little bit on the terrible side. Very tinny and flat sounding.
Also, three flights of stairs and this TV do not go well together. This
thing is what some might call "very heavy".
Other Thoughts:
Newegg shipping gets cudos yet again.

    Awesome
PC Monitor!
Pros: Huge PC
monitor, 1920x1080, low cost. Just hook it up to your PC and be blown
away! Works in all common PC resolutions (older games look great). All
necessary cables included.
Cons: 3 dead
pixels (but not in annoying places), didn't even bother with the
speakers (use dolby digital live system).
Other Thoughts:
It's amazing how social a "personal computer" can be with a screen this
large. Everyone in the room can see the screen perfectly, so people
often comment on what you're doing. Picture here:

    fantastic
Pros: Cables:
DVI to HDMI, VGA, set of 3 RCA, set of 3 RCA. Dead Pixels: 0... amazing.
This thing is MASSIVE.
Cons: I almost
burned 15 bucks on a cable that came with the TV... First time you
almost let me down, Newegg.
Other Thoughts:
I'm not an audio/videofile, so the speakers are great for me.

    Better
than expected
Pros: 37" LCD
1080p with multiple HD inputs along with RCA inputs/outputs under $1000.
Pixel Perfect upon arrival.
Cons: Minimal
manual, so if you know nothing about TV's and how to hook things up, you
could be lost for a while. The base also seems to be slightly unstable
and cheap feeling.
Other Thoughts:
After reading many reviews about how horrible the speakers are, I have
to disagree with them. They are not the best speakers by far, but they
are fairly good for cheap detachable speakers.

    Great
Set
Pros: 1080p
for around $1000.00 , Good black levels, every type of input you need
(vga, hdmi). PIP is nice although you can only use them between the 2
tuners (the tv uses 2 tuners, one for all the HD stuff like hd cable, or
pc inputs, - the other tuner is for regular cable, composite inputs, and
also has the component input. When you use PIP you can only use one
input from each of the tuners, not 2 from the same tuner.)
Cons: speakers
that come in the box arent good, i didnt even take them out of the
plastic. could use another component and hdmi port. The controller is
very basic and you cannot buy a unviversal one to replace it. Ive done
alot of research for this unit and as far as i can tell all the cons
listed by anyone are not bad at all. They are never about the picture
quality, which is the reason we buy these things. The complaints by most
people are the # of inputs, the length of the cords included, or other
things that dont really define the set.
Other Thoughts:
My first unit i recieved was defective. The black levels showed as an
ugly maroon color. It was horrible. Sceptre customer service wasn't that
bad, although it took me 2 and 1/2 weeks to get a replacement. The
replacement is doing well, in fact it is what im typing this review on
now.

    Very
nice monitor
Pros:
Excellent as a monitor - 1:1 mapping through DVI. The default settings
were really quite good for the monitor, and I didn't really have to
change anything other than turn down the backlight. I sit 3 feet away
from the display, and it is absolutely awesome for totally immersive
gaming. Even though it is a 37" display, the pixels are tightly packed
and there is no screen-door effect.
Cons: Few
cons: Can't enter digital channels subchannels directly - with the HDTV
tuner i.e. if the channel is 20-3, you'll need to enter '20', then hit
CH+ 3 times. The TV also does not automatically go into standby if the
computer goes to standby. Changing HDTV channels is slow. No
optical/coaxial out for the HDTV tuner.
Other Thoughts:
My TV came with some minor scuff marks on the screen (about 1 inch in
diameter) that I could just not clean off - but thankfully it's not
really visible when the display is turned on unless that area is totally
black - somewhat disappointed nonetheless.

    Gaming
Review
Pros: I had to
post this review as an update to my previous on. This thing is great as
a PC monitor. I hooked it up to my gaming rig and man what a difference.
1080p gaming is great. I've tested; Spiderman 3, Prey, FEAR, NFS:most
wanted, Rainbow6:vegas, Tombraider: Legend & Aniversary, Doom3 ROE,
Hitman:BM, Stalker, & Halflife 2 ep 1. All at max resolutions and
settings and there was no ghosting at all and everything was crisp and
clear. True emersion can be had with this lcd in these games I needed to
turn my head in spiderman 3 and NFS was like i was actually driving
really intense when being chased by Police. FPS's you feel like you are
really there. 720p HD is great to in Movies i can see the individual
peaks and valleys in a leather jacket.
Cons: None
what so ever
Other Thoughts:
Make sure you have a system that can run this thing at 1080p. I didn't
try it at lower resolutions but it's most likely like any other lcd.
System Specs: Asus Crosshair, XP Pro Spk2, 2GB Crosair XMS2 @824, X2
4200+ @ 2.5 Ghz, EVGA 8800GTS

    impressed!!!
Pros: the
price! the quality! I had a 1080i monitor in the passed, this 1080p took
me by surprise. the pc resolution blow my mind. the games are
incredible. you can put your face right on the screen and still see the
details. I also have xbox360 w/hd-dvd connected via a vga! GhostReacon
II and Kingkong-HD at 1080p is very impressing!
Cons: didn't
find any yet!some complains about the speakers, but don't think to hard,
they work just find or just remove them. I use my reciever anyway.
Other Thoughts:
I build a media center pc with 1080p, this monitor respond and adapt and
gets automatically dectected by windows has a true 1080P. The screen is
very bright, yet you can increase it even higher! I was very please with
xbox 360 games and hd-dvd at 1080p. Even the xbox recognize the 1080p
monitor. For the 360 you will need a vga connecter, the component
connection quality picture is terrible |

looks so awsome. This TV is by far the best.
Cons: nope.

    Great
HDTV
Pros: For the
price this is a great HDTV. Very large and very sleek. The 8ms response
is great, no ghosting while gaming on my xbox 360.
Cons: Picture
quality is not as good as the top brands like sharp and samsung.
Included cables like the vga cable are not long enough.
Other Thoughts:
It's amazing you can get 1080p for this price, well worth the money.

    Sweetness
Pros: When I
started looking at purchasing the TV, I was a bit skeptical since I
never herd the brand before. But after checking the reviews in addition
to the repor I have built up with Newegg, I decided what the heck the
price is right and the reviews are good. I personally think that I
received more then what I paid for (which is awesome) considering any
other 37” LCD TV with 1080p compatibility costs at least a grand more
than the Sceptre. In other words, this is a phenomenally great buy for
the price. So what are you waiting for.
Cons: The
speakers suck so don’t expect anything else otherwise, it’s all good

    Excellent
TV
Pros: Great
Picture at 1080P, Very Bright, Works perfectly as a computer monitor.
Decent Price.
Cons: I can
never go back to a small screen monitor. Also there is an issue with no
being able to switch back to DVI once I change it to something else like
component for my XBOX360.
Other Thoughts:
One other thing about the XBOX360, you cant view it on this tv at 1080P
even though the 360 is now 1080P capable. It may be an issue with
microsoft more than a problem with this TV.

    Great
HDTV for the prie
Pros: Great
1080p picture for the price. HDMI and other inputs. Built in HD tuner
works wells. No dead pixels. Xbox 360 looks great in 1080i.
Cons: Only one
component input should be at least be 2 component inputs. Speakers feel
cheap, but thats why there are surround sound systems.
Other Thoughts:
Great LCD for HDTV and HD Gaming at a pretty good price. I have used
many Sceptre LCDs and so far they have not yet me down with their price
and quality.

    AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: BIG,
bright, BIG, crystal clear, BIG, beatiful, BIG, sharp, BIG, very fast,
BIG,.............did I mention it is really BIG!
Cons: The
attached peakers could be higher quality, or better yet, optional. That
way you wouldn't have to pay for something that you'll never use.
Other Thoughts:
I am using this for the sole purpose as A PC / PC gaming / CAD monitor.
Display is *****+! Don't care about the speakers, as I have Logitech
Z5500 setup. There is absolutely no ghosting visible (am running (2)
7900 GTX in SLI). Very fast in shooter and driving games. Awesome CAD
display! Unigraphics NX4 and Autodesk Inventor 10 never looked so good,
with plenty of desktop space for 2D / 3D design and modeling. I would
highly reccomend this unit to anyone!

    AMAZING
Pros: WOW,
this is amazing, I just upgraded from a 30" CRT 1080i tv at I couldn't
believe the insane quality on this thing. I can run my desktop just fine
at 1920x1080 through the DVI>HDMI cable that came with it. I wouldn't
even consider my old TV Hi-Def now that I've seen this, it is an immense
difference. GET THIS NOW!
Cons: The
speakers aren't great, but so what, I only use them like right when I'm
waking up, then I switch over to my 5.1 Surround sound system.
Other Thoughts:
Newegg shipped it to me a day earlier than they said it was coming, so
thats awesome. Thanks newegg.

    This
is the one you need
Pros: High
quality, 1080p, clear, bright, Qam, 1920 x 1080 panel, fast, great HDTV,
great DVI from my PC using DVI to HDMI cable, great over the air HDTV.
Cons: Speakers
look nice but lack bass. Simple cure is to hook up a small powered
sub-woofer to the sub-woofer out jack. Makes all the differance in the
world.
Other Thoughts:
I kid you not, this is the best spent money I've had in a long time! All
previously reported problems have been solved. I have this in my home
office, mounted above my two PCs and it is stunning! Games, videos, DVDs
and anything else is just fantastic! Get One!!

    Finally
Pros: 1080p,
Clarity, Brightness, Contrast, Respons time, Easy menu (compared to
others), not cheap looking. Xbox360 looks best(stunning) with VGA cables
(extra $xx) - markedly better than 1080i Component (make sure that your
Xbox has the latest patch or the color saturation will look washed out).
I reaserched over 2 months, bought the wrong TV from Wallmart, returned
it and got this one. It came down to this and the Viewsonic 37". The
ViewSonic was not 1080p - but a good monitor from a reputable brand. So
far - I'm blow away by this TV - so far.
Cons: My JVC
progressive scan DVD causes the screen to tear - dunno why - xbox360 DVD
player looks just fine, so I junked the JVC. Sometimes, only on NTSC - I
get a black bar in the middle of the screen with random letters
appearing. This could be Comcast, it could be the amp I'm running to
boost the signal or it could be some funk in the tv. It goes away if I
switch the channel, sometimes it just appears for a few seconds - wierd
(da*n bogons). I did not get this to watch cable anyways - so no loss.
Not sure how well this manufacturer is established - who knows if they
will be in business 2 days from now.
Other Thoughts:
It would have been better with more HDMI and Composite connections, but
I knew what I was getting into when I read the specifications - so no
exuses. I hate to beat a dead horse - but if you set the bass any more
than 2 the TV will sound like a two bit communist chinese paper cup.
