Pros: Received both components with all cables/paperwork intact. Setup was a breeze - as I am in a metro area, I picked up 14 over-the-air HD channels with simple UHF antenna on first day. No dead pixels - has all the inputs I need. Blu-ray playback through PS3 using HDMI was excellent. Seems to be ½ the price of comparable brands.

Cons: Only function I see missing is ability to delete unwanted channels - 'blocked' does not seem to block. I have to delete all channels ( by aborting AutoScan ) and adding one at a time. Also a neat way to observe signal strength, during channel addition.

Other Thoughts: Would buy another, if I had another TV room.

Pros: Well, everything I have in my home theatre is Sony (except this TV) and as fate would have it, I discovered yesterday that this TV could be controlled by the default TV/SAT settings and the dedicated TV buttons on the remote for my Sony receiver.

Cons: Nada.

Other Thoughts: I want some Italian fewd...

Pros: I bought this tv 2 weeks before I returned from Iraq, that was back in Oct of 2006. I love this tv, I have my 360 plugged in using the VGA adapter. I have my pc plugged in using DVI to HDMI and play all games that allow me to at 1920x1080. I don't watch tv so I can't comment on that and I use the HD-DVD drive on my 360 for movies, the tv shows the sub par performance of that drive, when compared to a HD-DVD player.

Cons: It wont clean itself before room inspections.

Other Thoughts: Awesome TV, made even more awesome by the price.

Pros: I bought this tv and it is great. 1080P at a great price. Works well with my game systems and my HD cable. It plays nice with my computer and looks fantastic. HDTV is fantastic.

Cons: Needs another component input or three. But a system selector is only $25. My regular cable doesn't look that great, but Needs to come with a hdmi to hdmi cable.

Other Thoughts: I love my TV. Best thing I've ever gotten myself. Plays well with my WII and 360. The 360 doesn't output at 1080P well, but I suspect its the cable and not the tv. I can only guess component doesn't output at 1080p.

Pros: LCD has clear picture..not too dark..easy to set up..good price..fairly easy to navigate between inputs and menus.

Cons: Must set user mode settings if hooking up a computer to it...otherwise colors are way too bright..wish it had more than 1 component connection on the box!

Other Thoughts: I also have the 19" computer monitor from sceptre..3 yrs and it still works great! Hope this LCD does as well...

Pros: +CHEAP +good quality

Cons: -cheap -media box gets hot

Other Thoughts: If your looking at this TV, i suggest you google for it - there's a couple hundred page board on it. Overall it's great. What i'm NOT happy with is that newegg sent me a box which said "do not ship first" - RIGHT ON THE MEDIA BOX! It's a first revision box, so i have to sent it back to sceptre to get it flashed!

Pros: Great value. Price savings let me buy an a/v tuner with HDMI switching. 2 hdmi inputs on media box; easily set-up the media box next to your other home theatre components (caveat: 6' media box cable). Speakers are removeable. 1080p achieved with a dvi to hdmi cable - great for connecting your mac or pc to the LCD.

Cons: Poor rendering with analog cable TV subscription and analog composite & S-video sources (VHS etc.); you definitely need a digital cable or satellite subscription, and that runs best through HDMI (vs. component). Media box runs hot; somewhat loose coaxial cable inputs. Bright blue LED on the media box lets you know that the TV is on (thanks, Sceptre) but it's way too bright. Lacks optical audio out. Slightly snowy pixelization with some 1080i video sources: only appears when there is subtle contrast diffrentiation in out-of-focus areas of the video source. Sit more than 5 feet away, and you'll never notice this. Speakers are mediocre, but that's typical with LCD tvs: plan to use your home theatre set-up instead.

Other Thoughts: If you're a home theater afficionado and want a perfect 42" LCD tv, don't spend your money on this one. Instead, buy one that's twice as expensive - and hope for the best. This LCD works exactly as advertised for me. Granted if I had some of the color issues and other problems mentioned by others, I would be dissappointed, but that's not that case. I'm satisfied with this LCD.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5definitly worth the cash

Pros: very very bright, not one single stuck or dead pixel, loads of inputs, pip is movable and you can change the size, very easy to get setup and working correctly.

Cons: doesn't do split screen doesn't do PIP with 2 digital inputs (2 computers) its a little slow to change inputs/channels but its still only about .75 seconds.

Other Thoughts: I have this hooked up to my gaming computer/media pc and it displays HD movies beautifully. games look incredible, I would have like to have a split screen option. my media box gets a little warm but no more than you would expect. Warning, if you are hooking a computer up to it off of DVI, make sure you have the tv on the DVI input, the picture from the computer also shows up on HDMI input, but its overscanned by about 15% so this could erroniously lead you to believe that the tv is broke :) . this is not a problem if your comp inputes into the VGA input. NOTE: this thing is tough, it took a trip in a boat overseas, was in the mail for a month and a half to get to me and came out without a scratch. Note: if you remove the base and speakers you can ship this parcel post. all and all a very good buy for the money.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Excellent Computer Monitor or TV

Pros: 42 inches is alot of desktop space. The huge workspace really improves productivity for 3D animation. Screen is really bright and with a good signal it works great as a TV.

Cons: Weak signals really show on this thing. I'm fine with the ultra bright LED, it doesn't bother me, but when using it as a computer monitor I set the bulb at half strength. I'm not sure if my regular AV inputs work or not (I get a black and white pic with colorful waves) and I have't been able to get the HDMI input to recognize my DVI output on from, had to use SVGA. In anycase, it's not the panel or a dead pixel so I'll just get sceptre to give me a new media box.

Other Thoughts: Not the easiest setup for use as a PC monitor... I'm not sure what I did to finally get it to recognize the PC signal, but it works now so I'll be happy as soon as my new media box comes in the mail.

Pros: Very nice picture (1080P for upconverted DVD's) High resolution 1920 x 1080. Media box is a good idea..just make sure that you plan for a 6' cable. No dead pixels. The Media box comes with 2 HDMI ports, unlike Newegg picture.

Cons: The 6' media cable prevented me wall mounting above fireplace(not used). They should ship with the 10' cable.

Other Thoughts: Newegg! Your best source for all electronic needs.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Trouble at first, but Newegg helped

Pros: I love this TV. Great picture at a great price. Thinnest monitor I've seen. I had some problems initally but they we're resolved. I figure I saved $800 - $1000 compared to the local retailers. Newegg customer service is there when you need them.

Cons: Shipping of the monitor was delayed from the manufacturer and took over a week to receive, not the 3 days advertised. The original media box was defective, but was replaced by Newegg.

Other Thoughts: I was leary of buying such an expensive item without being able to see it in person first and I was concerned if there was a problem, I would not have the option of returning a defective item to a local retailer. Initially, I did have a problem with the media box. There was no picture. I called Sceptre and they guessed that the problem was the cables and sent new ones. Not fixed. Then called Newegg and they sent a new (slightly different, with 2 HDMI inputs) media box and problem was solved. Newegg also reimbursed me for the shipping to return the old box. The Sceptre warranty requires that if you need to return the Monitor or media box, they must be in their original boxes. This could be a storage problem as the monitor box is rather large.

Pros: Love it, picture for price is unbeatable

Cons: no one has really made it just how necessary the media box is, its not an option, if you do not buy it you will not have any inputs, so id buy this while its still on special

Other Thoughts: the need for the media box should be disclosed better

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Excellent for gaming & HDTV

Pros: PC, Xbox 360, and HDTV all perfect and ALL hooked up at the same time. No smearing. Fast. Colors are true. FPS are amazing. Large size allows for web surfing with two screens side by side. Can't think of a better monitor/HDTV solution.

Cons: Only sorta complaint..it gets hot (like all LCD monitors and HDTV's)when you sit three feet away. Perfect for the winter..not so perfect for a hot summer unless you have AC. No other complaints.

Other Thoughts: 1920 x 1080 rez allows for large screen viewing and gameplay. Xbox 360 takes to it like a duck to water. Oblivion (pc version) has to be seen to be believed. Screen is perfect with zero dead pixels. I'd buy another Sceptre in a heartbeat. Besure to add 5.1 or 7.1 sound to make this all ocme alive.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5AWESOME display - but know what your primary use is

Pros: 1080p 1080p (did I just repeat that?) Many inputs including full bandwidth component, 1080p-capable HDMI, VGA, and ATSC tuner 5.1 decoder Standalone media box so you don't have 300 wires going into the flat TV... 1080i video from ESPN looks AWESOME... and this is only 1080I folks. 1080P movies like T2 or Pirates (both WMV-DVD that play 1080p off your PC) look like real life.

Cons: NO 5.1 pass-through/output (no problem if you have a cable TV box) Cheap speakers can not handle much bass (I run the optical out from cable tv box to the stereo) plastic finish attracts static and is somewhat cheap. The blue LED is BRIGHT and if it is at your eye level it shines in like a laser (tip: a couple of drops of white glue will diffuse this). Some say 480p isn't good on this. I think it's fine given the source (DVDs look good). I've never seen DVDs played through one of those $2k standalone upconverters, but considering they cost more than the set someone's lost sight of the price. The media box cable is proprietary, and 4-6' in length. This needs to be longer to hang the set on my wall (not an issue if I had a closet behind the TV, as some people have...)

Other Thoughts: All HDTV sets are compromises right now - anyone who says a set is perfect is misinformed. You can get better HD screens than this, but not for LESS than twice what this costs (and if you plunk down 6k on a 'perfect' TV, that doesn't sound too perfect for the wallet...). WHY on earth is NewEgg de-bundling the "media box"???
