Sceptre X-Pad 1000 USB Floppy Drive Installation Instructions

• Disconnect the Floppy Drive from X-Pad or Cradle.
• Copy fbu_arm.cab (on CD Rom) to one folder on X-Pad.
• Run fbu_arm.cab on X-Pad, you may get following message:

Unsupported Device Type:

The application is not supported for this device type, and may not work correctly on this device. Do you wish to continue installation?

Click “Yes” to process.

• Driver installation is competed.
• Connect the floppy drive to your X-Pad and insert a formatted diskette into the floppy drive. The diskette can be access as "Storage Card" folder in the "My Computer".

Restrictions

1. "Storage Card" folder
The "Storage Card" folder will not appear if you merely plug in the USB FDD.  The "Storage Card" folder will only appear after you have inserted a formatted diskette.

2. Formatting a Diskette
There is a format utility program, USBFDFMT, in the Windows folder of your Sceptre X-Pad (If not, you may copy it from the CD-Row).
If you insert an unformatted diskette in the USB FDD, USBFDFMT will run  automatically.

3. Suspend
The floppy drive supports suspend mode. However, if suspend mode does not seem to work correctly, try unplugging the USB FDD before entering suspend.

4. Cradle
If you docking your X-Pad to cradle, then the USB port on X-Pad is disabled, you may connect your floppy to USB port on the cradle.

5. Limitation
This driver supports only one floppy drive.  You cannot connect two floppy drives to your X-Pad.
