Answer :

  1. My monitor has no display but the power LED light comes on, what do I do?
If the power LED light is amber (with the self-test screen on), please do the following steps:
    1. Please check the signal cable connections; make sure it's tight and secure.
    2. Please check if there is any damaged/bent pin in the signal cable connector.
    3. If you are in the Win95/98/2000/ME, please make sure you install the proper monitor and VGA card driver.
    4. If you are in the Win 3.1/NT 4.0, please make sure you set up the proper resolution mode.
    5. If you are in the power saving mode, please move your mouse or hit any key on your keyboard.
    6. Please connect the monitor to a different computer to eliminate a possibility of video card (in your computer) problem.
If the power LED light is green (without the self-test screen on), please do the following step
    7. Please increase the brightness and contrast

  2. My monitor has no display and the power LED light is off (no power on the monitor), what should I do?
    Please do the following steps:
    1. Please check the power cord; make sure it's tight and secured.
    2. Please try to use a different power cord.
    3. If you connect it to the power strip, please try to connect directly to the outlet wall.
    4. Please try to hook up the power cord to the different outlet wall.

  3. Why does my monitor have a fuzzy or blurry display?
Improper brightness and contrast setting are usually the problem. Different VGA cards send out different signal strength. Please do the following steps:
    1. Please reduce the brightness and contrast to about 50%. If it is too dark, please increase the contrast gradually.
    2. Please connect the signal cable directly to video adapter port (eliminate any extension cable and/or any splitter box)
    3. If you are in the Win95/98/2000/ME, please make sure you install the proper monitor and VGA card driver.
    4. If you are in the Win 3.1/NT 4.0, please make sure you set up the proper resolution mode.
    5. Please connect the monitor to a different computer to eliminate a possibility of video card (in your computer) problem.

  4. Why does my monitor have a pink haze or discoloration?
    Please do the following steps:
    1. Please remove any speakers away from the monitor.
    2. Please use the manual degaussing (refer to the User's Manual)
Note: Some models don't have the manual degauss; if this the case, please turn off the monitor and let it cool off about 20 minutes, and turn it back on.

  5. Why does my monitor have a green tint or missing color (color problem)?
    Please do the following steps:
    1. Please check the signal cable connections; make sure it's tight and secure.
    2. Please check if there is any missing / bent pin in the signal cable.
    3. Please connect the monitor to a different computer to eliminate a possibility of video card (in your computer) problem.

  6. Why is the display tilted/slanted?
All monitors exhibit a degree of tilt due to the globe's magnetic force. This force effects the beam projecting through the vacuum tube. To eliminate this problem, please do the following:
    1. For WinPlay Series (except P50X & 14"), Dragon Eye Series (except D50X) Series, D Series (except D50XB), there is a tilt/rotation control function (refer to User's Manual ) to fix the problem.
    2. If your monitor has no tilt/rotation control function, please reposition the monitor direction; it will minimize the tilt/slant.

  7. Why does my monitor show "out of range" message?
The resolution and/or the refresh rate is set up too high than the monitor is capable of (please check the monitor specification).
If you use Win'95/98/ME/2000, please do the following steps:
    1. Install the proper VGA card driver
    2. Install the monitor driver
If you use Win 3.1 or Win NT 4.0, please set the resolution and/or the refresh rate according to the monitor specification.

  12. I want to get more colors, however I only have "16 colors" option. What do I do?
You need to install the video adapter (VGA card) driver for the Operating System such as Win"98, Win NT 4.0, etc. The color depth has nothing to do with monitor driver or the monitor itself.

  17. Why is my monitor making a high pitch noise?
Magnetic field interference stimulates the oscillation to cause the high pitch noise; it will not affect the performance of the monitor. There are 2 way to minimize/eliminate to noise:
    - change the refresh rate
    - tilt up/down the monitor physically

  18. I own D77D and I see two faint horizontal lines on my screen; what should I do?
D77D has Diamontron CRT with stripe pitch technology. The two horizontal lines are called horizontal damper wires. These damper wires are required to maintain the aperture grille's alignment and will cast a shadow on the screen. In most application, these lines are not visible; however, they are visible in the light background color. The damper wires are part of the technology; therefore, they ARE NOT CONSIDERED A DEFECT.
