Answer :

  1. Can I use different resolution modes on LCD panel?
    Yes, you can; however, it perfoms the best under its native resolution. The following is a list of LCD panels and the native resolutions:
    · 12" LCD Panel: 800x600
    · 14"-15" LCD Panel: 1024x768
    · 17"-18" LCD Panel: 1280x1024

  2. Why is my display distorted/fuzzy/blurry/unclear?
    Please do the following steps:
    1. Please connect the LCD Panel directly to the computer (eliminate any extension cables or splitter box). If you connect it to a notebook/laptop, please connect it directly to the notebook (eliminate the docking station).
    2. Please set the LCD panels to its native resolution:
        - 12" LCD Panel: 800x600
        - 14"-15" LCD Panel: 1024x768
        - 17"-18" LCD Panel: 1280x1024
    3. Please use "The Auto Adjust" on the User's Controls' OSD (On Screen Display); please refer to the User's Manual.
    Note: 12" LCD Panel does not have this control; so you have the "Phase" and "Clock" manually; please refer to the User's Manual.
    4. Please connect to a different computer a possibility of your VGA card (inside your computer) problem.

  3. My LCD Panel has no display but the power LED light comes on, what do I do?
    If the power LED light is amber, please do the following steps:
    1. Please check the signal cable connections; make sure it's tight and secure.
    2. Please check if there is any damaged/bent pin in the signal cable connector.
    3. If you are in the Win95/98/2000/ME, please make sure you install the proper monitor and VGA card driver.
    4. If you are in the Win 3.1/NT 4.0, please make sure you set up the proper resolution mode. We suggest to set it up at its native resolution. (please check the LCD Panel specification).
    5. If you are in the power saving mode, please move your mouse or hit any key on your keyboard. 
    6. Please connect the LCD Panel to a different computer to eliminate a possibility of video card (in your computer) problem.
    If the power LED light is green, please do the following step
    · Please increase the brightness and contrast

  4. My LCD Panel has no display and the power LED light is off (no power on the LCD Panel), what should I do?
    Please do the following steps:
    1. Please check the power cord; make sure it's tight and secured.
    2. Please try to use a different power cord.
    3. Please try to use a different AC adapte, if it's available.
    4. If you connect it to the power strip, please try to connect directly to the outlet wall.
    5. Please try to hook up the power cord to the different outlet wall.

  5. Are Sceptre LCD Panels Apple (Macintosh) compatible?
    Yes, they are. However, they have ether to be connected to Power Macintosh either using an IBM VGA card  or the Macintosh with separate sync on video sync signal output . The LCD panels are not compatible with conventional Macintosh because  it  uses sync on green  on video sync output.

  6. Can Sceptre LCD Panels work in other countries with different voltage standards?
    Yes, they can because the AC Adapters, included in the packages, are universal AC Adapters. BT15+ does not have AC adapter but it still has universal power supply.

  7. Why does my LCD monitor show "out of range" message?
    The resolution and/or the refresh rate is set up too high than the monitor is capable of (please check the LCD monitor specification).
    If you use Win'95/98/ME/2000, please do the following steps:
    1. Install the proper VGA card driver
    2. Install the monitor driver
    If you use Win 3.1 or Win NT 4.0, please set the resolution and/or the refresh rate according to the monitor specification.

    Please do the following steps:
    1. Download the driver file from
    Sceptre website.
    2. Save the file into a diskette.
    3. In Win'95, click on "My Computer" - "Control Panel" - "Display" - "Setting" - "Advanced Properties/Change Display Type" - "Monitor" - "Change" - "Have disk" 
    4. Insert your driver diskette
    5. It will start installing automatically
    6. Select the proper P/N# (product number), please check on the back label/rating
    7. Click on "Apply" button
    8. Restart Win'95

  10. How do I install Win'98 driver for the LCD Panel?
    Please do the following steps:
    1.  Download the driver file from
    Sceptre website.
    2.  Save the file into a diskette.
    3.  In Win'98, click on "My Computer" - "Control Panel" - "Display" - " Setting" - "Advanced" - "Monitor" - "Change" - "Next"
    4.  Mark on "Display a list of all drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want" - Click on "Next" - "Have Disk"
    5.  Insert your driver diskette
    6.  It will start installing automatically
    7. Select the proper P/N# (product number), please check on the back label/rating
    8.  Click on "OK" button
    9. Restart Windows'98

  11. Does the LCD panel need driver for Win NT 4.0/Win 3.11?
    No, it does not because you can select the mode and the refresh rate manually.

  12. Why does my LCD monitor have a green tint or missing color (color problem)?
    Please do the following steps:
    1. Please check the signal cable connections; make sure it's tight and secure.
    2. Please check if there is any missing / bent pin in the signal cable.
    3. Please connect the monitor to a different computer to eliminate a possibility of video card (in your computer) problem.

  13. I want to get more colors, however I only have "16 colors" option. What do I do?
    You need to install the video adapter (VGA card) driver for the Operating System such as Win"98, Win NT 4.0, etc. The color depth has nothing to do with monitor driver or the monitor itself.

  14. Can I connection VCR/DVD/TV directly to my LCD monitor?
    PT17W/PT17G/PT18W/PT18G are the only models that you can connect VCR/DVD/TV directly; the LCD monitors have S-Video connector.

    PT17W/PT17G/PT18W/PT18G are the only models support digital video card; the LCD monitor have 24-pin DVI connector.

  16. I have no video, what should I do?
    Please check the power LED light on the LCD:
    A. If it is “off”, please do the following steps:
    1. Please try to connect the power cord to a different outlet.
    2. Please check the power LED light on the AC adapter; if it’s off, then you may need to send the AC adapter only for service.
    3. If the power LED light on the AC adapter is on, then you need to press down the LCD power button a little bid longer. For X5/X5G & X7/X7G-Agama model, you may need to press and hold the power button for about 2-3 seconds.
    4. If it still doesn’t work, then you may need to send it for service
    B. If the power LED light on the LCD is “on”, please power off your LCD and turn it back on again:
    1. If you have “No Video” message on LCD display, then most likely this LCD monitor is good but w/ a loose connector or a bad video card in your computer, please do the following steps:
    · Please make sure the signal cable connector –for both ends- are tight and secured. If still not work, then
    · Please try to connect the LCD to a different computer to determine if you have a bad video card in your PC.
    2. If you have “Frequency Out of Range” message on LCD display, then most likely this LCD monitor is good but you need to the proper resolution for the monitor. please do make sure you set up, in general, as the following (Please refer to your User’s Manual for detailed information):
    · 15” LCD: 1024x768/60Hz
    · 17” & 19” LCD: 1280x1024/60Hz

  17. How do I install WinXP/2000 driver for the LCD Panel:

    1. Download the driver file from Sceptre website.
    2. Save the file into a diskette.
    3. In Win XP/2000, click on “My Computer" - "Control Panel" - "Display" - " Setting" - "Advanced" - "Monitor" - "Properties” – “Driver”.  For Win XP, in Control Panel, please makes sure select “Classic view”.
    4. Click on “update driver” and click “next” button
    5. Click on “display a list of the know driver for this device so that i can choose          a specific driver” and click “next” button.
    6. Click on “have disk” button
    7. Click on “look in” and locate file folder
    8. Click on “open” and click “OK” button
    9. Select the model or P/N of the monitor and click on “next” button.
    10. Click on “next” button again
    11. Restart the computer

  18. When computer is connected to Monitor's HDMI port, why the Monitor doesn't wake up from Sleep Mode?
