Great buy

J I just set-up my new Sceptre and it was very easy. The picture is vivid and the sound is good (but not "excellent" as others have indicated). For the price, this is a great buy. So long to ever buying Samsung again - twice the LED backlight failed in just 3 years.

Clear, crisp pictures. Sound is slightly tinny (probably since the frame is very thin), but looks great and works great. Incredible value.

Best for the price!

I just bought my 3rd and 4th Sceptre LED TVs. First two are 32"; they are 3 years old now but picture quality is still like new. Newest ones are 40". I love all of them! Sound wise, it is more or less like any other LED TV out there. For high-quality sound get a separate audio system.

Great Televisions

This is the 3rd Sceptre TV I now own. I have a 32" (8 years) a 50" (2 years) and now our new 40" for the Bedroom. this replaces the 32" which goes in my office. I have NEVER had a problem with these TV‘s and would not think of buying anything but Sceptre.

Huzzah.

For the price this television is pretty much great. The sound is, as other customers have pointed out, kinda low but it really isn't all that bad. I didn't have an issue hearing it, but others in the household did. We hooked it up through the speaker system and voila, problem fixed.

Put it together ourselves. The stand was complicated but the instructions were easy to follow. It swivels. Fancy.

All in all a really decent product for the amount you pay. The picture is clear, it uses less energy than our old television, and the set up was relatively simple.

I got this tv yesterday as a gift and find it wonderful! At 65 I was able to do what little assembly was required with no problem! The picture is crisp along with the sound. All parts were included, even a screw driver. Great product that I would recommend to anyone!

great value, with a few shortcomings

The good: great value, plenty inputs, light weight for its size. It has buttons on the set (you don't have to hunt the remote to program it this is a big +++ in my book)

The bad: not very loud, you can hear it fine, but if you like booming bass you'll have to add speakers; the guide is too small when viewed in a larger room. Probably its biggest shortcoming is When you change channels program information is NOT displayed, only station, time and date.
I think it's an excellent value, I'd recommend it to a friend.

Amazing TV for gaming!

I bought this not to long ago, because I was getting a new game console, not expecting much. But when I first launched up the game, I was left breathless. The amount of detail, the clear, crisp, vivid images was absolutely incredible. If you‘re into gaming, this TV is a must!!

great picture, easy to use

great picture,easy to use.was confused thought about it being roku useable.I interpretted that to mean unit was actually installed in the television.I searched hundreds of tv's for the best picture size ,quality & features before purchasing this one.also,my stand wouldnt accomodate most of the newer models with the legs so far apart.it had to have a base of a certain size for me.I do appreciate the newer stands on the larger tv's for safety reasons though.

Nice Picture but audio weak

I purchased this to replace a 29" Panasonic CRT TV. Wanted something bigger and more stylish. The 40" Sceptre fit the bill. It was reasonable in price and had features that I like. I use it with a Standard Definition set top box. The picture is very good. I have it also hooked to a streaming media player on the HDMI port to play movies. Might just be me but I do not see that much of an increase in picture. Like with most new digital TV, the audio is lacking. They give you a few watts and needs to be cranked to max for us older people. I use a RCA 141 wireless head set when needed. The wife don‘t like the sound bar. I took off one star because of sound volume (not quality). All in all, this TV fits my bill. just ordered the 23" with DVD player for my guest room.

Q:The video card driver is not up to date, how can I fix this? ?
A:

  1. Find out what card you have by going into the Display Settings of your Operating System.  You will be able to see your video card name.
  2. Most video cards are from two companies, nVidia and AMD (formally ATI). You will need to download the latest driver to update your card. Here are the links:

    • nVidia: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

    • AMD (formally ATI):  http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDSupportHub.aspx

    • Note: If your video card is not from nVidia, please search for the card on Google (www.google.com) or  visit www.sceptre.com for additional technical support and Live Chat with Customer Tech Support.

  3. Download the newest driver and remove the old driver from the system.  You will also need to remove the plug and play detected monitor driver.
  4. Reboot your computer and install the newest video card driver.
  5. You will need to reboot an additional time (reboot twice) for the system to detect the monitor, then you can adjust the monitor resolution.
