This TV is an amazing value at this price. I was looking for an extra TV to put in my bonus room and came across this TV. I saw the name of the company and the price and was like "This has to be a terrible TV." I read the reviews and saw that Sceptre has been manufacturing Computer monitors for awhile and decided to start making TVs. After reading that I felt more comfortable with the company behind the TV. Next concern was, how good can a 4K TV be for $299(Was on sale). When I typically buy a TV I like to see it in person and compare it to the other TV's on display, but there were no Wal-Marts around me that had it in stock, so i decided to take a chance and buy it online. Even without the 4k, $299 for a 49 inch TV is a steal...
Very bright and vibrant picture. Wish it could have been 120h instead of 60h but that's ok. Very easy to set up and great tv for the price. Would recommend it to anyone.
Love it. Love. It
Couldn't ask for a better 4K TV. I've only had it for a few months but from what I've seen so far is pretty amazing for the price. Haven't been able to see actual 4K yet but that's my fault for not having any media in 4K.
We love it and it is such beautiful colour.
Spectacular TV for the price.
Wonderful picture at an awesome price, with decent sound (which is nearly always an issue for flat screen TVs)...color me happy!
Great pictures quality
Sound was OK but not worried about it if you have a sound system
Very happy. Its good for the price. Works great as a display for my PC
Very easy set up. Light , made it easy,to hang high. Sharp colors.
Cant beat it for the price, takes some configuring of image, game with it and its awesome.
Very satisfied with my purchase at walmart. Very fast shipping too
Excellent picture clarity from all angles.
Very good TV, nice clear crisp picture
my son bought this tv....he loves it
I love this tv, I bought this tv for my bedroom,Hooked it up in the living room to check it out, Had it for a few weeks now and is still in my living room. You can't beat the price of this television, picture is great, I have not changed any settings on this set, right out of the box it works better than my other 55 inch tv. the shipping was very fast with no damage. The remote is very cool easy to use, You should be very happy with this television, I know I am. They even sent a Philips head screw driver to attach the base. I love this TV. Thank you.
Solid TV. No missing pixels, sharp picture. Connected to my PC HDMI easy. Not the greatest sound but hey, with the money I saved I'm buying a sound bar.
I have not opened box nor have I installed TV...but price is excellent for screen size.
50 inch tv
I am always ready to criticize an item for one shortcoming or another. So, when I give this five stars, believe it. Perhaps if you looked at this set right next to another more expensive brand you might see a difference. Who knows? All I can say is that my eyes are dazzled every time I turn this set on. I see more expensive sets at my friend's homes and I cannot tell a difference from memory. Great picture. As to sound. It is not great but then, TV sound seldom is. Even in old cathode ray sets which had more room for speakers, the sound was never great unless you spent $hundreds for internal sound that you could match for less than a $hundred external. It is as it always was. If sound is important to you plan to upgrade externally on all sets you buy. Quality will be better and the cost less.
I have only had it a month so I really can't judge it yet. I am impressed with the color and the true black. It has a headphone jack so I can watch TV without waking up the wife, truly a special feature and an absolute necessity for peace of mind! The remote is VERY light, it doesn't have the chunk of metal inside that makes other remotes feel good in your hand.
I ordered the 4k TV simply because of price. Picture quality is outstanding, although I'm not using it for 4K. It's a great TV for the buy.
We have the TV for over 3 months, so far so good. For the 4K viewing of pictures, you have to connect it to HDMI cable. The picture is so clear and Hi-def and big pixels...It's only $325. Just don't buy it during the holidays, it will be cracked or damaged. Comparing to LG, Samsung, RCA, etc., You can't...Really... can't find a better price than this one.
This is an amazing TV, the picture quality is fantastic. The sound is good, but not great. I have already told friends and relatives that it is a great buy!
Great deal for the money. I use a superior sound system, cable tv and media center. It does what I want with good results. I can't speak to over the air signals....
So far I am impressed with the picture. The sound isn't loud enough for me but that is because I am hard of hearing. I was nervous about it being a name I never heard of but so far it's been great. Had to adjust the picture right away. Only had it a week or two so unsure of longevity
Great inexpensive 4k TV without HDR. Good for a bedroom or 2nd family room. Sound is not great but what flat panel has good sound nowadays. Almost everyone buys a sound bar after the fact. So buy the TV while it's on sale and do the same for a sound bar at a later time.
Excellent all the way through. I have Roku 4 hooked up and the TV experience goes up 4 notches. I just wish the mini audio output volume could be adjusted by the TV remote. Otherwise, with my 5-year warranty, it's a keeper. Forget the name brands.
wow ths is great thanks
I purchased this about two weeks ago and it arrived on the date promised undamaged . I set it up and turned it on and with a few adjustments to the sound and pic, it's working great . Great picture, the speakers could be better but ok for now. And for the price it can't be beat, 259$. So I would definitely recommend this TV to any of my friends. Thanks Walmart...
late 2009 27" imac. hdmi 2.0 cable is streaming 1080p with audio to my new 49" 4k display at 60hz ! These older imacs can only stream 30hz at 1080p but this tv has a built in upscaler. I must say for a 49" display the picture stunning. Text is very crisp and you tube videos are just as good. I has to adjust some color, brightness and sharpness. I scaled to 100% mode and its flawless. No lag with the mouse whatsoever. I use this display as a "seperate display" to my imac for music production. i also stream videos from comcast and youtube to it with stunning pictures. My mac has a ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB graphics card which is kinda small but the tv has a chip in it that upscales to 4k. Read about it on the scepture website. That means my 1080p stream gets converted into 4k even when bandwidths are not 4k. The screen is IPS also. You have no distortion at hard angles. See the pictures. Great Tv !!!
payed 300 dollars and got a 50 inch tv worth every penny
Was very easy to install
Very nice TV
I noticed the television type 4K-Ultra and liked the picture quality. I bought this television because of the price. It's worth every penny I spent.
great picture! sound not so great, though, sound bar or surround sound system almost a must.
Love the TV!! Best deal I have came accross by far.. Was a little worried at first being an off brand but the picture quality is amazing and the sound reviews I read were not accurate at all. Sound is just fine.. Mounting bolts were not an easy find and were not included with the to or the kit I had purchased from Walmart bought found some that worked. Other than that awesome buy for the money..
Satisfied with purchase and shipping. Negative is remote is cluttered with too many buttons
Great picture sounds ok, I attached a sound bar with blue tooth, listen to music with TV showing pictures.
I have only used it for less than a week, but it works perfect. It even survived a bumpy 2 day ride in a uhaul trailer! The remote (comes with batteries) and tv have lots of useful features (roku controls, sound bar controls, program guide, favorite channel, etc) the picture is excellent and the sound is good for my purposes. I will soon connect an android box to make it the ultimate smart tv. At $279 for a 4k tv, i'is s a great deal.
Tv is clear and hasn't failed me yet. Can't believe the price for what I got. The only thing is the sound which is like the speakers are sealed inside a box and I havnt found a perfect way to adjust them to improve it. I'd just by a sound bar or surround sound anyway to really complete the set.
Good picture, price, size, delivered on time. Only problem is sometimes when I adjust the volume on my sound bar and I'm watching Netflix it somehow changes the input on the tv and I have to switch back to the proper input for Netflix.
I just brought my Tv a couple days ago. Shipping time was normal it took about a week from the time I placed the order. Tv is very light which I love. Great picture quality and the sound is ok.
I love my new TV. The price was amazing. The 4K picture is great too. I def will recommend it to my friends!
Using it as a 4 k monitor. Love it.
We purchased this for a crisis pregnancy organization so they could use it as a monitor to project the ultrasound. Great price!
This tv is an excellent value with a clear, vibrant picture and four hdmi connections. Clean looking with a minimal bezel and very light (22lbs). Sound is fine unless you plan on featuring this tv in your living room and need hi fidelity, in which case you could easily connect sound equipment. I set the sound on surround option which makes it more full. We use it in our rec room for kids to view and play console games on. Highly recommend unless you are looking for super hi-end with beautiful bezel and smart features.
All is awesome sound could be better but I hooked up my Bose surround sound system and I am a very happy camper.
Good buy for price. Only con is the speakers. Very boxy sounding. Not clear and has e ho sounding. Would still recommend buy for price and size.
I do not like smart TVs ever since I have heard about people hacking TVs and watching you. Also, smart TVs due to technology, I think, go obsolete quicker. With this TV I will be able to upgrade my DVD players and the new player will usually have the latest technology...plus I have never heard of a hacker, hacking your dvd player to watch you. So about THIS TV ...the resolution of the display makes 1080 broadcasts look very detailed...and when you see a 4K movie the picture is simply stunning. I did not do anything to adjust the colors, I just chose a mode the manufacturer had programmed in and it looks great....
It was a great way to upgrade my tv without the big price . It is not a smart tv but,it is still worth it. My husband loves it.
When I opened the box, I was so surprised with how light it is. My 10 year 52" Samsung weights like a ton. I guess technology changed. I set up the TV with my 13 years old with no problem. The picture quality is really really good. The only reason I gave it a 4 stars is that the screen seems not flat when the TV is off if you look at a certain angle, but it won't affect the picture quality at all.
Very nice TV,
This television would have been a good deal at $400.00. I gave $279.00 and am well pleased. No dead pixels or any other problem. The sound leaves a bit to be desired but it's not that bad. Ad a sound bar. Make a few minor adjustments and it's as good as a $500.00 tv.
The picture is very sharp and true. The sound isn't the best but overall I'm very satisfied.
I bought the TV to use on my patio and I am very pleased with. This is a outstanding value for a 4K TV of this size. The picture is solid. The TV sound is not the greatest but it's not terrible either. I am using a wireless Uverse receiver on the TV and originally could not get any audio. Researched the manual and thought it might be wireless signal strength. I went to Sceptre's website and chatted with one of their customer service reps to check. They were very helpful. I learned that 3 of the 4 HDMI ports on the TV are HDMI 2.0. The receiver is still using 1.4. Once i plugged it into the 1.4 HDMI port(Port 4) it worked.
I bought the 43" 4k a couple months ago and love it, was going to buy another one to replace a 2 yr old Vizio that the 43" blew away. Saw the Sceptre 50" 4k and decided to go bigger. They're beautiful TVs, why pay twice the price and more.
Fantastic great value
The tv works ok. There is a pixel out, and the source HDMI 2 switches to HDMI 3 twice before it will stay on HDMI 2, but what do you want for less than $300?
We bought a 32-inch Sceptre few years ago and it's been great. So we I tried the new model and it's been a lot better and we haven't had any problems.
Quality is good and certainly was worth the money. Picture is great for gaming.
Was kinda worried that the 4k would be bad but it turns out it's really good for a low end TV - and the picture is pretty clean - watching blu rays with a 4k up converting player is amazing - the only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 is due to the edge lit technology - but for the price it's a great buy !
Although I had never heard of Sceptre, it appears to be operating as it was advertised.
I bought this TV for $279.99 and I couldn't be more pleased. Very happy with the picture quality. I like how the Sceptre logo is nearly transparent on the bottom of the screen. VERY pleased with the sound quality, especially after reading the negative reviews about it. We have a nice-sized living room and the sound is adequate on 10 (volume goes up to 100). Also, make sure the device you have hooked up to the TV is set to the maximum resolution. For example, we have an outdated Roku that only gets a maximum of 1080p. In order to get the 1080p, we had to manually adjust the resolution settings on the Roku. To check your resolution, just press info on the Sceptre remote. I don't have a device hooked up that can put out 4k yet, but once I do, I'll update this. We've had the TV for two weeks now!
Perfect and tv sound is better than I expected
Being older than I like to admit, my love of very large, multiple monitors (that I can see) on the computer led me to try this tv. You can't get a better price for a 4k tv. It's like having four 1080p screens available at the same time. Imagine Google Earth with four times the amount of the earth visible at one time. Even better, long web pages and long documents are visible without having to scroll up and down. Very nice. Of course, the graphics capability of your computer will have to support the higher resolution and multiple monitors. Video cards that can handle the 4k resolution are not expensive these days. Seriously, this tv has performed flawlessly for 6 months now. Text is very legible, color is great. Energy consumption (I measured it) is about a third of similar sized LCD tvs that I use with far less heat output. Delivery by Walmart was perfect and it is so light that I easily moved it around. I am phasing out my 2 other large 1080p televisions and am going to buy the 55" Sceptre next. (My computer desk is a conference table so I can fit three of these in front of me with a couple of smaller ones on the side.) I'm a very happy camper. Highly recommend.
I purchased a 32-inch Sceptre 3 years ago and have enjoyed it very much so I never hesitated to give this one a try as well. The picture is really nice and the sound is no worse than any other TV (it is actually loud to my ears). It is also very light and offers great connectivity options!
I get this tv for the Xbox one s great price didn't except much but for less then 300 I really like this tv. Netflix looks great in 4K games play well haven't noticed any motion blur even though it's only 60mhz. The sound isn't great but you have a lot of settings to get it to be alright.
...and that's the point. 90% of the tv for 20% of the price. Love it.
The picture is pretty awesome for the price. The sound is really tiny. I have it hooked up to my computer, playing games on 4K is pretty awesome.
Great TV at a very good price has a very sharp picture and great sound. over all a very good unit I don't have any thing bad to say about ..
i have had 0 issues with this t.v and brand. it does everything a 4k t.v should and is half the price :)
The television arrived by fed ex and no damage was done during shipping. The box arrived intact. Unpacking we found the TV Stand which looks like two boomerang metal pieces, a screwdriver, 4 screws, remote control with batteries. The enclosed booklet is more like a sheet of paper with the basics on it. Setup was a breeze and the picture is stunning with direct TV, and an Xbox one. The sound is amazing and would be even better with surround sound which is my next purchase. The TV is very light weighing in at 33 pounds. It has 4 hdmi inputs and east to reach locations. Definitely pick this TV up at this price for a 4k you cannot go wrong.
I couldn't be more pleased with this Sceptre U505 4K UHD LED TV. As others have mentioned, the sound quality isn't that great but this was to be expected from a flat panel TV. One note about the sound: the defaults have the bass and treble set in the middle. If the bass is turned up and the treble down a bit, this improves the sound quality where it doesn't sound so tinny. Also, if SurroundMode is checked, this widens the sound and gives considerable improvement as well. As far as the display, let me just say the 4K UHD resolution on this Sceptre looks absolutely phenomenal! I also like the fact that two of the HDMI (as well as USB & coax) are located on the side panel in the back for easy access. I've seen reviews that the menu options are overly complicated, but I haven't found this to be the case at all. I had a bad experience with Walmart's shipping of this item. UPS tracking showed "in processing" for almost a week, think it never left the warehouse! However, after an online chat with a Walmart representative the shipping was finally corrected and I did receive a partial refund for the hassle, which was nice. Anyway, would highly recommend this Sceptre U505 4K UHD LED TV. It's an exceptional LED TV for the price! A+A+A+
Excellent TV, with Ultra High Definition, at 2160p and 4K Resolution. Priced at $280. The next one on the 4K UHD 50" category is priced $430; so this one is about 34% less expensive. But don' let the price miss lead you, You'll be getting a high quality TV. I compared the picture quality side by side with the Vizio, the Sharp and the Hisense and this Spectre was similar if not better than the rest. Features: It has 1 x Component/Composite Video, 3 x HDMI, 1 x Headphone, 1 x Optical Digital Audio, 1 x PC Audio In, 1 x RCA Audio L+R, 1 x RF (Coaxial), 1 x USB 2.0, 1 x VGA Speakers are pretty loud and sound quality is very good as well. They are rated at 20W, 10W per channel. Options for Stereo and Surround Sound. Not bad either one. I have played with both and actually some action movies sound better in Stereo while musical type of programs or drama movies sound better in Surround. Again, preference and know how to adjust.....
Easy to purchase online and pick up in store. I used my Walmart savings dollars and got an even better deal on the tv. The picture is very sharp and great color. The volume is a little tinny so I bought a sound bar (Visio for $30 at Walmart). it made a huge difference. I would recommend this tv if you are looking for an inexpensive nice quality.
I bought this tv for gaming specifically and it's amazing. The 60 MHz refresh rate is great for gaming too as almost any game is frozen at 30 frames a second. Movies can seem a little off at times though. Overall I am super happy with this purchase.
Great picture , price over all a good deal . Just not the best sound bought sound bar now it rocks!!! :)
This monitor is a great monitor for our computer. The 4K resolution at this size is spectacular and at this price point you can't beat it. You can actually see every pixel in an 8 Megapixel photograph.
Large clear screen at a fantastic price. Audio is adequate for many. I added a small satellite speaker system to make it acceptable! I would only wish for the ability to control from a smartphone app
As with any new technology it takes a little while to figure all the settings. My only complaint is the audio set on surround sound on some programs is tinny and the jump from level 8 to 9 is big. I wish there were .5 increments
Great 4k display however you will need a sound bar
product and service couldn,t be better
When I first seen this tv being advertised I thoughr either a typo or it was poor quality. After reading the reviews that were almost all positive I figured I had been wanting a big screen bad but evedything i had seen in the same size was double the price. So i figured a 49 inch 4k for under $300 was worth taking a risk. The pic is great an colors an reaolution all that 2. The only reason 4 instead of 5 stars is cuz its not a smart tv an the sound quality below average but went out an got an inexpensive soundbar an now im turnt up. For the price its a no brainer go get at it.
The only drawback that I have found is others have mentioned. On my x505 I could adjust the external surround sound system with the volume control on the TV. You can't on this one, unless you keep going into the sound settings and turning on the TV speakers. The setting reverts to off every time you turn the TV off. I guess because it detects something plugged in and they want you to buy a sound bar. Remote controlled computer speakers are half the price though.
I bought it two weeks ago and use it as an additional computer monitor. The shipment is reliable and quick. The installation is easy. I did struggle a little initially in setting up the display relationship between an existing computer monitor and the TV, but it is nothing to do with Sceptre. Once the setup is complete, it works beautifully. I am particularly happy with my choice of the 4K resolution. The screen is large and the resolution is great, much better than my computer monitor. I am very happy of with my purchase. My large screen display is so cool and comfort to my eyes.
This tv has a brat picture and is well worth the price.
The picture is excellent. The sound is fine......as long as you aren't playing music. When playing music, the sound shifts constantly high and low. When watching Netflix or regular shows, the sound is normal. Very thin with minimal bezels. The led power light shines beautifully in the dark. Overall, I love the TV.
This is a great TV! U definitely need to do heavy adjustments to the tv to have it look good. Out of the box I almost returned it because of poor colors and poor quality of picture. It was very dark at first but after changing the backlight to 100% and adjusting the colors it looks GREAT. I highly recommend this TV. At this price it is unbeatable. I have a 79" LG 3D TV and a 65" LG 3D tv that both cost over a few thousand dollars. While this tv is a guest bedroom tv, it pretty closely matches my more expensive TVs. The picture is quite stunning. While some of the vibrancy and pop of yellow and red are not as eye poppingly stunning as my other main TVs this TV is still very respectable and very close. It is much better then other budget tv's that colors may be very flat. This tv is not flat but just not quite 3000$ TV quality. Now I paid 3000$ for the 65" LG so I would hope it would have a better picture. Now for this price I would not hesitate to purchase this. I am very picky about accurate colors so most may not notice such sudlties as I so most may not notice. As far as clarity it is great. The 4K and 1080p as far as clarity and detail are identical to my other more costly TVs....
Twice now I've purchased one of these sceptre tvs and twice now I've been beyond pleased. Packaging is impressive and product is very well protected. TV looks nice and seems well constructed and the picture quality once again is better than my much more expensive name brand tv that is also 4k ultra. Highly recommend this brand.
Great set up. Light for wall mount and plenty of features as well as nice screen.
great picture and clarity. great tv for the cost of it
Great picture with a great price for a 4k.
Excellent purchase and a good deal. Cannot beat roughly 50" 4K TV for $329. Works great with Blu-Ray DVDs.
Really an enjoyable and beautiful technically current TV. I don't need or want Smart TV, so this is a perfect solution to my TV watching.
I received delivery a day before the date that was promised which is a plus. Setting up the TV was just the beginning of a more than positive experience. Doing a review of the Brand, I found that the reviews, although favorable, they did not do this V justice in the manner deserved. I am more than pleased with the picture and performance. I highly recommend this really fairly priced set with all of the quality you would expect from a more expensive well known "Brand Name" any day and my only regret is that I did not know of this bargain before I had bought two other "Brand Name" TV's. Better get your hands on one of these before they become categorized as a "Brand Name" some time in the future. I would imagine that when it catches on, the bargain will somewhat fade into obscurity.
The picture is awesome. The menus are hard to learn. The menus can do almost anything, you can imagine, with picture and sound. We attached the matching sound bar, with it's thin subwoofer. The subwoofer is flat enough to fit under a cabinet, out of sight. The sound is awesome. You can feel the room moving when playing action movies. Live concerts sound awesome. That subwoofer reaches deep bass like a good theatre sound system. How could they do that, in a thin speaker cabinet, with a tiny speaker facing the floor? Never had this brand before, but we love it.
This was an extremely excellent purchase -- 4K for $329 !!!
Works well good picture quality and sound
This TV looks so good and is bigger than anything else I've seen at this price range.. I feel like I stole it from Walmart
so far so good. easy to set up, picture is very clear. I have owned Sceptre products in the past and they are a quality product.
the color was great clear and defined. the sound was very clear I was able to turn the set down to listen to it. the cable was easy to program. VARY VARY SATISFIED
You will not be disappointed with this beautiful television. I did add a sound system to it...it isn't necessary that is just my preference. The set up was a breeze...the television is lightweight...the picture is wonderful. I am glad I purchased this item.
Great bang for the buck
Checked reviews from various sources over the web and all were pleased with display and the majority had suggestions for better sound. Ordered it and upon arrival using the Walmart 3 day package deal - TV panel had an exceptional display. Tuned color, temp etc. just because I have a tuning DVD ( it was actually decent out of the box). Speaker performance was good and sufficient for someone who does not want to rattle their neighbors windows. This TV is setup lengthwise in a long rectangular room with vaulted ceiling and even the bass is fine here. Price is best yet and Walmart's return policy can't be beat. Inputs are plenty and the non-amp'd audio output was an unexpected bonus.
This was bought for my son, for his birthday, this Is what he asked for. He uses It as a monitor for his computer.
This is one of the few UHD 4K Flat Screens that actually support HDCP 2.2., for true 4K viewing. I had bought the Hisense H7 which does not...Live and learn. Also even though this UHD 4K is not a smart tv I enjoy more. I have 4K Fire Tv For my 4K content.
The picture is wonderful and exceptionally clear. All of this and not a lot of money.
Just like the title says Great TV.No problems with sound, like the other reviews I've read.Sounds very loud.It does take a few seconds to turn on not sure if it's suppose to work like that.
This is great TV has all the right ports and what a GREAT picture sound could be better. I bought a sound bar. You can afford one for how affordable this TV was
I loved the price online. Even though my local Walmart didn't have it, I was able to have it shipped to the store free and pickup was a breeze. I would recommend comparing online prices versus in store prices when shopping for big items like this.
Bought it online and picked it up at the store Shipping was quick. Enjoying this TV at home the sound is great
This company is really trying to make a name for themselves. The tv came in and was very well protected with high quality foam which was the first plus. Pulled the tv out and is really a good looking piece and legs were easy to put on even if you don't have a single to since it comes with them. Turned the tv on and the picture quality is amazing. I have another 4k tv in the living room that's a name brand and this one is just as good if not better!
I have been buying Sceptre tvs for many years and i had no problems out of any of them, please keep making this brand of tv.
This is my fourth Sceptre TV. The big difference now is that this is a 4k TV. It has 4HDMI ports, so I am able to connect my ROKU player, DVD player, Chromecast, and my new laptop. Everything worked well out of the box. The other thing to note is its weight, it is just around 20+ pounds, so it was so easy to install on my wall. Note that this is one of the lightest TV for this size, based on my personal comparison among several brands. Why would people buy more expensive TV's when a cheaper one would actually deliver the same goods? In theory, the more expensive ones are actually better, based on some "science". But the reality is that the ordinary human eyes won't notice the difference. So I stick with this brand.
We wanted a better picture, we got it! It isn't a smart tv, but we have gadgets that take care of that. This was a reasonable price
It a great by but it just needs a special box to play clear on cable but played excellent on Netflix!
I have had Sceptre tvs in the past and now and all I can say is its like when Zenith first hit the market with their color tv UNBELIEVABLE
I am very happy with the purchase of the Sceptre television. Speaker system isn't great but the picture is and that's why I brought it. I already have Apple TV. I already have Roku so I am sent. I already had a sound system so I had no problems whatsoever. This is my second Sceptre television and if it lasts as well. I'm all smiles! I had no problems with the color of some people suggest maybe it was a pics of the factory but my picture was perfect right out-of-the-box no color tweaking necessary!
I don't think you can get a better picture for your price. If you adjust the colors of the TV everything 1080p and up looks awesome. They look way better than my oldn1080p tv. Everything below 1080p looked better on on my old 1080p TV. If you don't change the colors out of the box only 2k and 4k will look great.
This TV for the price just blows me away, A 4K TV and all that it has to offer , it is a no brainer ! Yes the sound is lacking some what , but what flat screen isn't ??? If you want better sound, hook up to a sound bar or 5.1 system. If you want a great price and all the features of the more expensive top name brands go with Sceptre .
For the people who complain about picture color, contrast and clarity. They are probably using the default settings. Once you calibrate it properly to the lighting environment you will view it in you will notice a huge difference in color quality. In have this set up in a den with soft 60 watt lamps. I used a calibration DVD, to calibrate the picture settings. The best calibration DVD to use for beginners is Disney's World Of Wonder. Here are the settings I came out with. Brightness: 65 Contrast:43 Color: 42 Tint: +1 or +2 Keep in mind for each source you to enter these values. Also keep in mind to use these settings as a guide. The lighting in your room may be different than mine, so I reccomned picking up your own calibration DVD and spend 30 minutes running through the calibration tools.
Great deal! Tweak the sound settings and you're good to go. Best picture for the money bar none
This tv is amazing -- in its own right as a display/TV -- but also because it's a good $100-200 less than any other 49" 4K tv that I've seen online or in stores (at the time of this writing). I got this tv to serve as an external display for a 2015 Retina Macbook Pro. It looks fantastic. The speakers were skimped on, I'm sure, to keep costs low. But it has a digital out (and you can utilize this connection, or, if you're like me, send the audio from your computer to another set of speakers. As a hobbyist audio engineer, you're truly missing out if you only have a soundbar, anyway. If you're shopping for a 4k tv, buy a good set of speakers. They're not expensive anymore.....
We were not expecting anything special in this TV due to the price. However, it turned out to be as sharp and clear as our much pricier 4K LED TV. We definitely recommend this set to our friends.
Getting an ~ 50" 4K TV for under $500, let alone for only $379, is a steal. The picture is beautifully clear, with no distortion. The colors are bright, with no blurring. The sound quality is crisp. This would be a great TV at twice the price.
Good TV for price. But I agree for the price buy your self a sound bar or you will be very disappointed. I talked to a sales rep at Best Buy and he told me almost all newer TVs need a sound bar because of the size of the speakers. We like the TV itself very much and you can't beat the price.
What a great TV for the price. Delivered to the store on the date stated. Five minute set up and channel search and you are watching an excellent picture. Get a HDMI cable that will handle the speed and specs.
Owning a Roku stick, I wanted a 4k TV which was not "Smart" for bedroom use. This met my requirements. To date, I am very pleased. As others have recommended, I have connected the TV to a sound box.
I like the fact that it has 4 HDMI inputs
I've owned this TV for about a month now and I'm very happy with my purchase. Sadly there isn't a lot of 4k content out here right now but I watched 2 seasons for Blacklist in 4k and was very happy with the picture quality.
Great clarity, easy to set up lightweight. Ordered and did a ship to store which was nice. This replaced an 8 year old 47" and the technology difference couldn't be more striking. Plenty of extra ports so there is room to add devices. It comes with an optical out to run a sound bar. I was a bit skeptical of the brand since it isn't well known, but if this one makes it 8 years it will far and away be worth the price!
I can't believe that all Walmart stores don't have this TV up and running. So far this has been a surprise and a very good experience for me. I can't also believe that there are negative reviews out there about it. To the one who is sceptical about the build, or the performance, (unless that person is a professional game player) of this TV, Put your mind to rest. It is stunning. I've yet to navigate through all its features, but right now I see rock solid performance and great picture adjustment settings. I'm in awe of the standard clarity (not 4K). Don't hesitate, at a little over $400.00 with a protection plan included you can do a lot worse in your desision making. Thank you Walmart, for affording me the opportunity to get a 4K tv at this price.
This is a great TV and an even better price. I am a gamer and love this TV I haven't had any problems with it. There is no game delay or anything. The picture quality looks awesome as well. The TV itself is also quite light if that matters to whoever may read this.
The product for the price is totally unbelievable 4k is awesome what a picture sound quality is also excellent for the price is unbeatable Thank You walmart.com
As well as giving full 4k TV, I am using it as a 4K monitor (for my P.C.). It is fully compliant, and I am *very* pleased with the output. Gaming is crisp, responsive, and impressive. It brings "full immersion" to another level (and for hundreds of dollars less than a far smaller 4k monitor would have cost me).
Great tv for price. I like to watch NFL & the clarity is awesome. Regarding sound quality comments by others ... I didn't hear a problem. You can add a sound bar . I am interested in picture quality.
Hello! I purchased a Sony Bravia 12 months ago and felt like I over paid for name sake. Technology has come too far to exclude some lesser known vendors. I recently decided on 4k Ultra HD and purchased the Scepter 49inch Ultra HD. I read and watched every thing available on this set. The YouTube reviews are really good if you are a visual person.....
I got this during the black friday sale for $379. I see that it is currently $399 and retails on the Sceptre site for $699, marked down to $499. It is one of the least expensive 4K UDTVs available in this screen size.....
great picture, easy setup, cant beat the price
Bought this tv based off of similar sceptre tv reviews. Was totally suprised of the quality of the tv and the awesome picture. Have a sound system hooked up so not sure of quality of sound from tv speakers but for the price who can complain. This tv compares to tvs costing much more. Set picture quality to vivid and you will be amazed! Very happy with this purchase! Thanks Sceptre for a great tv and Walmart for a terrific price.
Great picture, great quality, great price. Very impressed.
Got this TV online for 349.00 and could not be happier!! It has 4 HDMI ports, 3 of which are HDMI 2.0 and supports MHL and ARC ( Audio return). It's not a smart TV, but let's be honest, aside form the first week or so of a new TV, how many people acutally use the apps ona smart TV? All dvd plyers, satelite receivers, game consoles, Google Chromecast and Amazon Firestick have all the apps you need. why pay twice as much for something you will hardly ever use? The sound quality is a bit lacking but for the price of this tv, you can get a nice sound bar and still be hundreds cheaper than the competitor. Video quality is as good as any TV I have seen with a suggested retail less than 800 dollars. As far as those claiming the TV stopped working? Well that happens with all brands. I've had two different brand new top tier brand TVs go out in less than two years.
EXCELLENT PICTURE, GREAT PRICE AND BETTER THAN ALOT OF HIGH PRICE TV
So far I am happy with this TV I now have 2 and for the dollars spent it is well worth it. Just hope they hold up over time.
