Sceptre Rocks!

I hooked up my new 49 inch Scepter to my Sony sound system and WOW...what a beautiful addition to my movie loving experience! I know the sound on the TV isn‘t the greatest...but who cares when you have pixel depth as good as this TV and a nice 6.1 surround system to go with?

I don't think you can get a better picture for your price. If you adjust the colors of the TV everything 1080p and up looks awesome. They look way better than my oldn1080p tv. Everything below 1080p looked better on on my old 1080p TV. If you don't change the colors out of the box only 2k and 4k will look great.

This TV for the price just blows me away, A 4K TV and all that it has to offer , it is a no brainer ! Yes the sound is lacking some what , but what flat screen isn't ??? If you want better sound, hook up to a sound bar or 5.1 system. If you want a great price and all the features of the more expensive top name brands go with Sceptre .

For best picture use these settings.

For the people who complain about picture color, contrast and clarity. They are probably using the default settings. Once you calibrate it properly to the lighting environment you will view it in you will notice a huge difference in color quality. In have this set up in a den with soft 60 watt lamps. I used a calibration DVD, to calibrate the picture settings. The best calibration DVD to use for beginners is Disney's World Of Wonder. Here are the settings I came out with. Brightness: 65 Contrast:43 Color: 42 Tint: +1 or +2 Keep in mind for each source you to enter these values. Also keep in mind to use these settings as a guide. The lighting in your room may be different than mine, so I reccomned picking up your own calibration DVD and spend 30 minutes running through the calibration tools.

This is a steal! (Feb. 2016)

This tv is amazing -- in its own right as a display/TV -- but also because it's a good $100-200 less than any other 49" 4K tv that I've seen online or in stores (at the time of this writing). I got this tv to serve as an external display for a 2015 Retina Macbook Pro. It looks fantastic. The speakers were skimped on, I'm sure, to keep costs low. But it has a digital out (and you can utilize this connection, or, if you're like me, send the audio from your computer to another set of speakers. As a hobbyist audio engineer, you're truly missing out if you only have a soundbar, anyway. If you're shopping for a 4k tv, buy a good set of speakers. They're not expensive anymore.....

Better then expected

We were not expecting anything special in this TV due to the price. However, it turned out to be as sharp and clear as our much pricier 4K LED TV. We definitely recommend this set to our friends.

Great Price & Sharp Picture

Just bought this 4k 50 inch unit online at Walmart for about $350.00 and also got the heavy duty mount for about $50.00. I saved about a $100 dollars on the TV and $75 dollars on the mount by getting them on line as opposed to buying them in store. Walmart shipped them to my home for free in about 2 weeks. All items arrived in good shape and the TV and mount went up together with only a small amount of modification to the assembly. The Sceptre 4k picture with a standard HD signal through Direct TV is as sharp as my SAMSUNG 55 inch HD SMART TV which is awesome. I can‘t wait to start seeing some of the 4k programing that Direct TV is going to offer soon. I have never purchased a SCEPTRE product before so I got the extended 4 year warranty from Walmart just in case I need it for around 50 bucks. With that said I have to say at this point that I am satisfied with MY 4K purchase and if this TV lasts as long as my Samsung I will be purchasing more SCEPTRE products in the future. Forgot to mention that the Sound of the TV is likened to My other Samsung and LG products which are just ok in that area.This is a great TV for an awesome price, take the plunge but get the warranty just in case!

Top TV for the Price

Getting an ~ 50" 4K TV for under $500, let alone for only $379, is a steal. The picture is beautifully clear, with no distortion. The colors are bright, with no blurring. The sound quality is crisp. This would be a great TV at twice the price.

Good TV for price. But I agree for the price buy your self a sound bar or you will be very disappointed. I talked to a sales rep at Best Buy and he told me almost all newer TVs need a sound bar because of the size of the speakers. We like the TV itself very much and you can't beat the price.

Great TV

What a great TV for the price. Delivered to the store on the date stated. Five minute set up and channel search and you are watching an excellent picture. Get a HDMI cable that will handle the speed and specs.

Great Value for Basic Needs

Owning a Roku stick, I wanted a 4k TV which was not "Smart" for bedroom use. This met my requirements. To date, I am very pleased. As others have recommended, I have connected the TV to a sound box.

Great TV, Not for gaming

It‘s a really great TV for use as just that: it needs a separate sound system in my opinion however, and the lag when using it makes it unable to be used for PC Gaming really. For everything else, it‘s perfect!

Can't beat it for the price

I've owned this TV for about a month now and I'm very happy with my purchase. Sadly there isn't a lot of 4k content out here right now but I watched 2 seasons for Blacklist in 4k and was very happy with the picture quality.

Great Kids Gameroom TV

Great TV for the price. Perfect TV for Kid‘s gameroom. Plenty of HDMI input for gaming systems/DVD/Roku Etc. Could have better sound, but as many other TVs, you will just need to install a sound bar if you want great movie audio.
