Excellent TV

This TV was ordered with quite a bit of suspicion, however after reading the reviews and knowing Walmart’s excellent return policy, I decided to give it a try. When the TV arrived I noticed that the box was open at the top although it had the strapping tape around it. It was super easy to hook up and connect to my cable. The picture is great (and only as great as the signal received), very clear and vivid colors. It is very easy to customize the sound and picture with the built in tuner. I don’t care for the sound but before I purchase sound bar I will have to cycle through the various options and see which one I like the best, including the manual tuner. I am very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this TV and the price. It was easy to assemble and is light weight, thanks to being a LED TV.

A 4k unit with an excellent picture and sound. You can pay more for a reman unit but why? This has a 1 year warranty plus for 52.00 more add the Walmart plan covering 4 years. This is not a smart TV but who cares ? Your laptop or phone can be hooked up to it with a simple cable.

my purchase

ordering on line was so simple nice and very easy. i cannot rate the product as of yet because only a couple of weeks. thus far no problems. picture is clear only issue is hooking up my speakers. i'm not doing it a friend is as i don't understand that. he did have to do something to get the ultra hd working right. so once we get the speakers working will be great. but so far so good... was packaged well fed ex was great. picture is very clear and the remote is fairly easy. i still am learning it. other than the on off source keys. only isssue i have is you have to go on line to get any directions and some of my friends are in dark ages and i have to do it for them. wish you you have a book of instructions for a small fee. but i think awesome for price . love it so far

Great 4K TV for a budget price!

If you have been skeptical about 4K tvs or just waiting for an affordable option to come along then take a look at what Sceptre is offering. Let's get down to it.. Price: This is the biggest factor for most people when it comes to electronics. Tvs are usually $400+ for a decent quality set at 1080p 50 inches+ . Here we are with 4K technology at 55 inches for less than $400. Sounds too good to be true, and it would be if the tv didn't perform so well.. Image Quality: Anytime you buy a tv out the box you will want to adjust the settings. I hooked up my computer and had software downloaded that lets you adjust the settings. There are a couple of color ranges that you have to adjust to brightness and contrast to get the tv to perform at its best. After some adjusting I was able to optimize the image and have been very impressed so far. Most content is still 1080p and the tv does a great job of upscaling the image. Compared to the 1080 set the image was clearer, colors looked great and everything was crisp. We're not even talking about a 4k image yet! I've used mostly youtube which is generally downgraded, those images were faaaaantastic. After downloading some pure 4k video the tv really shone bright. 4K image is incredibly detailed, down to seeing people's pores on their faces and tiny scratches on the scales of an aged alligator....

So far so good, great picture and sound at a low price. I will be getting another one for downstairs game room! I seen the negative reviews and took a chance, this TV is great and the price is good too! Some people complain about the shipping or the way they received the TV. Well that's the shipping company not Walmart. Plus the TV is packed well to help protect it some. Give this TV a shot if your looking for a nice TV with a low price. Do not let the crybabies decide for you.

Great picture and sound

Picked up at Walmart and checked box well, out of concern for damage. Just returned a Sansui 55" that was pixied due to damage in shipping. Love the picture on this set, better than the previously mentioned Sansui. I knew I would probably like this after buying 40" Sceptre last year. However, the 55" has much better sound. This is hooked up to a generic directv box via RCA jacks and I can't get it to tell me picture format 720? I have it connected to a cheap Samsung up scaling bluray dvd via hdmi and tv says it 1080P! It looks it as well. I'm talking normal DVDs !. Rumor has it Sceptre makes sets for Sony. Don't know but really like this set so far. Finally, its 4K ready. Can't wait.

Great tv for the price

First off I would like to say I read a bunch of reviews before the purchase. All and all the positive reviews outnumbered the negative so I wasn't hesitant on the purchase. I did read one about the tv working and then the next day the screen went white and of course that happened to mine. I told Walmart they sent me another one out in a hurry and other than that the tv is excellent. You can't beat it for the price 4 hdmi ports pretty awesome. And if you also buy the sceptre soundbar the tv remote can control that too and will be my next purchase! I would rate this tv 5 stars for sure if I didn't have to get a replacement but either way it's awesome love it.

I am very Impressed!

I have only had the tv mounted on the wall and running for two days now but I am very relieved I bought this $369.99 55" over the other brands that were $300-1000 more. The tv arrived in perfect shape due in large to the excellent packaging from Sceptre. It was easy to hang on a tv mount with two people as it is very light. The picture was absolutely beautiful straight out of the box with absolutely no adjustments. The picture quality blows away my 65" Vizio. I have read some reviews of people complaining about sound quality but I found the sound to be awesome compared to any of the other 3 tv‘s I have. The sound goes very loud from the tv itself but is now hooked into a stereo receiver and really sounds awesome. I will never over pay for a tv again.....my tv snob days are over, the saved money will be spent elsewhere.

Exceeds Expectations

Only received about two weeks but so far it has exceeded all expectations. The colors are excellent and the picture is plain and sharp. It didn't need any separate adjustments and this could be the problem that so many have experienced, over adjustment.

Best value 4K monitor hands.

The Sceptre 4k tvs are straight up 4k displays. They do not have all the extra bells and whistles some othes do but this is a strength in my opinion, not a weakness. Televisions are not home theaters. I never buy a tv for the sound it makes. They are usually terrible at it and the Sceptre tvs are no exception. Most televisions also have horrible smart features. Tvs are not media servers. You can buy a roku, a dvd player, a home theater receiver, or any number of other devices which can access the internet. The Sceptre tvs have no smart features and I am grateful for it. The Sceptre tvs are designed to do one thing well, display a picture. And my opinion is they do 4k pretty darn good for the incredibly low price they sell for Also i use 4k tvs as computer monitors sometimes and wow, what a blast it is to have 4k as a monitor - it is the same as having four hd monitors. Just amazing.

I bought this TV from Walmart for $359 and can not be happier The picture is great and the price is unbelievable for a 55" UHD TV

LUV IT

Had no sound hooked up to my old laptop. Hooked it up to my desktop I just built and everything was wonderful. No bad pixels. Excellent picture. The sound isn't bad. I have a speaker bar for it and didn't hook it up.

It's a good looking TV , after going on YouTube to look at videos of how to adjust the colors and sound settings it looks amazing. Great tv for its price.
