Better than expected

The first unit I received was damaged despite the box being in good condition. The customer service representative was extremely helpful and made the return an easy one. I actually received the replacement the same day I sent back the damaged one. With that said, I was pleased with the new unit. It is extremely simple to set up if you are using the base. The picture is clear and the color is very good. I read some reviews regarding sound quality being poor but I have not found that to be an issue. I think it has been the bargain I had hoped for.

Great expectations fulfilled

I read many many reviews on this very website, There are over 4000!!! reviews. A ridiculously high number of people bought this TV. Thanks to all of you writing in. I was cautiously optimistic. I got the TV 2 days after ordering it! The connections to my cable box were well explained and I succeeded with my first attempt.  When I finally turned it on I was stunned by the quality of the picture and the reliability of the tuner. I looked for advice to calibrate the picture and I went into the menu to set the levels. The picture looks beautiful (for me) at these settings: Brightness 36, Contrast 40, Color 45, Tint 0, Sharpness 60,...Color temperature-Warm. All in all I am not just satisfied but almost ecstatic! I recommend this TV. And I will say you would be crazy to buy anything else.

The image is amazing and the sound is so much better than I expected! I was going to buy surround sound speakers but the sound is so good, no need for them. This TV is as good as my old Samsung. It is an amazing tV for such a low price. Very pleased.

new! If you are on the fence about reliability, Sceptre has excellent customer service.

THE WONDERFUL: Easy to read manual and set-up. Very lightweight. Slim beveled edge gives this TV a very stylish look.

THE EXCELLENT: Clear and vivid picture, Several menu options allow for personal picture settings. Audio and video outputs and inputs gives
you several options when connecting different devices. Complaints about the sound quality (speakers) is par for the course.
It is very hard to find a flat screen TV that does not have this issue, which is why "soundbars" have become so popular.
Many excellnt soundbars are available for less than $75.

Wow- a great deal

This TV is excellent for the cost paid. The picture is very good. The two built-in speakers are very powerful. I watch sports and the refresh has been just fine. Why spend more for a 40 inch TV.

Great Deal on a quality HDTV

It was time to upgrade from my 11 year old 26 inch Toshiba HDTV. I did extensive research on ALL the major 40 inch HDTV's available and read all the customer reviews online. I concluded the Sceptre 40 inch HDTV was the best deal around and so far, I've not been disappointed. The price was right and the picture quality has been wonderful. Thought there would be an issue with the picture quality since this was a 60hz unit and not a 120hz. Not the case. 60hz works fine for a 40 inch HDTV. In fact, most of the less expensive HDTV's out there come with 60hz, not 120hz. My friend has two Samsung's and two LG's and I can't tell the difference when comparing to my Sceptre. Honestly. Very satisfied.

Great Entertainment Value!

Just arrived by FedEx a couple of hours ago. The easiest TV I have ever hooked up. It was packaged well and arrived in perfect condition. It took less than 10 min to hook up to dish and get going. Picture is good, not spectacular but I didn‘t pay an arm and a leg for it either. Sound is better than average for a flat screen tv. So far I am very pleased with my purchase.

I was skeptical due to inexpensive price on this TV. I am so glad I purchased! I bought 2 of them! Crystal clear picture and so easy to set up! They even came with mini screw driver to attach bottom stand and a felt cloth to wipe screen. I am very pleased!! Great TV!

The television is an excellent buy. Its very lightweight, thin and the picture is excellent. My only complaint is the sound system. For the price, I highly recommend it.

Only have had this tv for about a week but it is an absolutely great tv so far for the price. Apparently a few people have gotten some duds, so just buy the extra warranty with the money you are saving and you have nothing to worry about. Picture is great. The audio is perfectly fine -- it is nothing exceptional -- but it is a flat screen so I do not know what the people complaining about this are expecting. Get some external audio if it is not good enough for you. Otherwise, this tv was a steal and I'm glad I bought it.

Wonderful LED TV for the price and service.

Easy 4 screw set up of base with included screwdriver. Plug in HDMI and you're good to go. I needed to adjust sound and screen for outside patio. I am very impressed with picture and Sceptre is a California based mfg. and service company. You can't go wrong.

Lots of TV for the price

I bought this TV recently because we had a Samsung smart TV that was hit lightly in the screen and caused that section to loose picture. It was only a few months old and they would NOT honor and credit to replace. This TV was a Great price, cheaper than the Samsung and much larger. It has a Great picture and seems to be well built.

Best value EVER for a TV

So far so very good! This TV is just excellent I read all the reviews and after one week I have had zero issues. The box looked beat up on the day it was delivered but this TV is just fantastic for the price. I purchased for my master bedroom to replace a 36 RCA and this TV is bigger and has more functions for a lower price. Great sound and picture I might buy another for my 3rd guest room
