Great Price

I wanted a TV with a 55" screen and after doing a very diligent search and evaluation, I came to the conclusion that the Sceptre U550 was by far the best TV when it came to both quaklity and price

Great UHDTV and can't go wrong for the price.

It cost 1/3rd the price I paid for the first Sceptre HDTV I bought in 2004, yet it is even bigger. For TV, the colors are fine out of the box, but to use it as a computer monitor, on my Mac I had to make a new color profile for it. And I had to adjust the color settings, but it is looking really good. (Brightness = 50, Contrast = 37, Backlight = 75, Color = 69, Tint = -37, Sharpness = 57, ScreenSize = Full100%, Dynamic Contrast = On, Film Mode = On, Video Noise Reduction = High, DT Noise Reduction = High, MEMC Setting = On, White Balance R=124,G=120,B=115, and offsets are 1024). I'm not saying that it is perfect or what a calibration device would come up with, but it looks good and passes the calibration tests on-line. The MEMC setting is supposed to allow the TV to simulate 120Hz refresh rates by smoothing out the motion. The screen does not have a matte finish to it, so if you have sunlight coming through windows or lights in the room, it will reflect when the screen has a dark scene.

I also found out that my Sony stereo remote has some of the same commands, so the power button on the remote will now turn on both the TV and the stereo. It isn't the fastest to boot up though. I clocked it at 18 seconds when hooked up to my MacBook.

I haven't hooked it up to a 4K video source yet. But, it does great at 1920x1080. I am very happy with this TV so far. I also ordered it on a Friday and it showed up the next Wednesday a week early.

Have had the Sceptre 55" Ultra HDTV for about 1 week now. So far it has a great picture with very high clarity. For the week that I have had the TV, I am well pleased with it and I got it at a very good price.

So far so good

I was looking for an extra, but inexpensive, large led and this tv fit the bill. Didn't need a smart tv, we have all kinds of blu-ray players that can get online. Good picture with plenty of inputs. For $359.99 plus tax and using 30 day trial of shippingpass with free two-day shipping, this is a pretty good buy.

Price was right and pleasantly surprised with quality. Speaker volume is ok but sound is pitched differently. Still going with 5 stars because I don‘t use internal audio anyways. Price overcomes that small negative.

Great quality TV for the $$$

This TV is very nice for the cost. The picture quality is fantastic with a wide range of color and adjustment. The overall look and appearance is very good. This TV has plenty of inputs - however it would have been nice to have a set of RCA audio outputs build in, but it does have an audio optical out and you can buy optical cable and adapter optical to RCA online for under $9.00. Audio isn't very good out of the box - however it does have a 5 band EQ built in, so if you know anything about adjusting sound with an EQ, you can get fairly good sound from it - the TV has plenty of volume it's a matter of playing with the adjustments to get a decent sound. Overall this TV is a great 4 star buy and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great large screen 4K TV on a budget. Also keep in mind this is not a smart TV with apps nor internet access, you can always add a smart box for around $50.00 or get a good blueray player (most will have the apps and internet access so a smart box isn't needed)

Fantastic TV for the price.

This TV is amazing for the price. I love watching movies and playing video games, both of which I do via my PS4. The picture is really good and the colors are amazing (I personally havr the color all the way up). I would definitely recommend this TV to anyone.

Intro to 4K

Serious value for a 55" 4k TV. Picture is above what I was expecting for the price. Sound was terrible, but that was expected. Looks great mounted on my wall. This TV will be ideal after more 4k content becomes available. Until then, 1080p looks good upscaled. TV was also packed really well for shipment. No cracks or defects on the screen or dead pixels from the factory. You really won‘t find a cheaper 4k TV out there. Sceptre has cut out many unnecessary features to bring the price down to a point where this is affordable for just about anyone. Money well spent.

Sceptre U550CV-U 55" 4K Ultra HD - Can't beat it!

I read all the reviews, good and bad about this product before my purchase. I also compared many different brands and models, in and out of the store. I'm a firefighter and did not have a huge budget for this purchase. I must say, I am sorry for all those who had a bad experience with this TV. Out of the box, this TV was perfect, picture and sound. Although I took some of the suggestion for adjusting the picture, I really did not have to adjust anything out of the box. I mounted it to a $19.98 tilting wall mount I purchased with the TV order. It mounted perfectly in a matter of minutes. It's been a month now, no problems. I added the Visio 29" 2 Channel Sound Bar with the order per a reviewers suggestion. I sound is exceptional and can actually get too loud at just about 50% output. Yes, it is not a Samsung UHD, but for $399.00 how much better of a picture do you need? It is crisp, clear and deep, especially when viewing an HD channel or Blu-Ray disc, but is excellent with non-HD channels as well. Remarkably, it has 4 HDMI inputs, something some of the much more expensive brands do not have. So, one for the cable input, one for the DVD player, one for the ROKU and one for the kids WiiU. Most have only three. The kids enjoy the picture with the WiiU. The optical output for the sound bar exceeds expectations. Wal-Mart just had a rollback price for $359.00. I called and they credited me the $40.00 immediately. The VISIO sound-bar was $78.00. I added a 3-Year protection plan for $36.00. So, for under $500.00 I have a awesome home theatre system, that I can add to is I choose for very little money. I highly recommend this package if you are looking to save money and want an exceptional home television experience.

What A Wonderful TV

I bought this TV two and a half months ago. It is a splendid television with a picture that is stunning. 4K is a big step forward in the evolution of video technology. The difference in picture quality is very noticeable with a richer palette of colors and a brighter, more vivid, and more accurate picture than is possible with regular HDTV. This is my second Sceptre TV. My first is a four year old 32 inch 1080P 3D Television which I still love and which is unique among all 3D televisions I have seen.

Excellent value

Ultra High Def for under $400! Using it in a classroom. Though I might need to add external speakers, but this TV has much more volume than expected and the quality of the speakers is good.

Sceptre 4K AWESOME!!!

I know some people have given this product a few negative reviews, but let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised. This T.V. Is Great. The picture quality is awesome and it streams Roku beautifully. I do recommend that you buy a sound bar for it as the sound is a bit tinny, but other than that I have No Complaints about this television. The price is great too. Only $379.99 on Walmart.com, I mean really, where are you going to find a 55" inch 4K t.v. for that price. Of course it's not Samsung or Vizio but if your looking for a nice t.v. for a great price that can handle Streaming, Gaming, Netflix, and basic 4K content then this is the television for you. I just wanted to add that the television came packaged very well. They put a heavy foam pad in to protect the screen, and the t.v. is secured firmly in the box. I also bought the 3 year warranty with it, trust me it's worth it to spend the extra $$$ for piece of mind. Highly recommended. Give Sceptre a shot! You won't be disappointed.

For the price - I could not be more happy !! Its very clear, and easy to mount. It is true there is a little bled around the edges on a solid blue or black background, but it is not noticeable at all during regular TV watching. I selected picture to be "SOFT" - colors great. Good luck. I bought 3 y warranty for $36.

Great picture - get sound bar though.

I got mine elsewhere back on black Friday as I missed a lot of the better deals. The TV picture is amazing. The sound is lacking but I planned on getting a soundbar/system anyways so it worked out well. I got some 80-90$ insignia sound bar and it worked great!

Great price and value

I couldn't believe that I actually found a 55 inch 4k television for only $399. I received the item right on time and found it easy to set up and begin using. The picture is very nice and so are the colors and details. I really am very happy with this product. I learn a little more about what it can do each day. My daughter is very happy with it also. I look forward to getting an even bigger unit in the future.

Great Picture !

I was going back and fourth over this Sceptre 4K HDTV and a another popular brand on sale about the same price. I already have 2 other Sceptre TV‘s and a Sceptre monitor and all 3 have performed great. So with that I decided on the Sceptre model U550CVU 55 4K TV. What a Great Picture the first time the TV came on. I could not be happier with this TV for the price. The Audio could use a little more bass but it does not affect my opinion as it will be hooked up to an external audio source. I would recommend this Sceptre 4K HDTV.

Everything is perfect.

We look forward to many years of great viewing. It was too big to fit inside our entertainment center, so we decided to out it on top of the entertainment center. Made the viewing so much better.
