Hindsight is 20/20

I purchased this product for my father-in-law as a Christmas gift, December 2015. I find it difficult to speak in grand, sweeping, specifics about this television because everyone is having highly individualized experiences with it. I, however, appreciated the many reviews when I was researching, so, my thoughts are as follows. This television far exceeded all expectations we had for it. I am going to purchase two more. We've had no issues with backlighting or sound. The picture is perfect. We added a sound bar, subwoofer system (just to be cool), papa was perfectly happy with the standard set up. The answer as to whether or not YOU, as a consumer, should make this purchase is simple. It's Wal-Mart. They're good with returns. Buy it. The price (generally between $400 & $450), is unbeatable. if you don't like it, return it and buy something else. Any television, no matter what brand, can be a prize or a disappointment. One can't truly know until one checks for oneself. With regard to "hindsight being 20/20", seeing for yourself and deciding then is just that. 20/20. Good Luck.

Great tv! Amazing Tv!

Great tv especially for the money. Great picture! As far as sound, I hooked it up to my 5 year Onkyo receiver with Polk Audio surround speakers...sounds awesome. However, I if you use just the tv speakers, go in and change the audio to surround mode and adjust equalizer...not bad like that!

Your Best 4K TV Value

Great value as entry level 4K TV...nice job Sceptre! Nice picture quality for both 1080p & 4K. Doesn‘t have any smart apps but that‘s ok since most blu ray players with smart apps can be had for less than $90 bucks. Has edge light bleed issue and had to exchange for new one that is much better but does not affect your viewing enjoyment. Sound is horrid...Soundbar a must! All in all can‘t complain...got it on Walmart Black Friday for $399 and is probably the best 55" 4K value out there now. Don‘t hesitate just buy one now and know you‘re set for at least when the 8k units come out in a few years!

Best bang for your buck!

I bought this tv 2 months ago and I can honestly say this is the best deal out there in terms of quality for price. The sound and some menu options are lacking but I also have a sound bar so no problem. I look around everyday to see if I made a wide purchase and the answer is always a resounding yes!

Sceptre 55" 4K

This tv is excellent for the price. I ordered online and received it in 3 days . I have 2 spectre brand tv's at home and have 10 at the YMCA where I work . The TV's have been an great upgrade and excellent value.

Great tv for the price!

I was skeptical of buying this tv being new to the 4k. But the picture is awesome. I‘ve seen complaints about the back light on it but honestly unless your just nit picking it‘s not noticeable. The sound is like most of your newer tvs and can sound hollow until u adjust or get a surround bar. Overall however this tv is just what I needed. The picture is very vivid and amazing. Great work!

Best deal on 4K tv

This is by far the best deal I found on a 4k tv. While they're not a true 120hz, I have 2 of them, and they're both good. In order to get the best out of these, adjust your settings as another reviewer mentioned to brightness 35-40, contrast 80, backlight 80 for true black, and I'd push color to 80 as well. Then the picture is amazing. Also remember you need 4k content to maximize its brilliance. So streaming, your device must be capable and your internet must be 15-20mbps. Bluray must be able to up covert to 4k and your computer video card must support resolutions that high.

Great Price for A Great TV

I bought this TV on Christmas sale and am very happy with this TV. I had two problems. 1 The remote control did not work. 2. The over the air TV tuner was missing. I called Sceptre customer service and they shipped the plug in tuner and a new remote the same day. Everything works perfect now. The tuner pulls in more channels than my LG TV which costs twice as much. Buy this TV ,you won‘t be sorry.

Quality for cheap

Bought this for myself for Christmas, I‘ve had it for about a week and it is beautiful, I wouldn‘t have been able to find this type of TV in any other brand for the same price at all.

Great TV

I bought this during Black Friday online at Walmart for $399 and it came very well packed with no scratches or dents. It was very easy & simple to set up and light enough I could pick it up by myself and set it up on my TV stand. The picture is perfect with great natural colors & very clear picture. The sound however isn‘t the best, sounding kinda like it‘s coming from a tin can. I‘ve read on other reviews to add a sound bar and then it will be perfect so that‘s the next purchase. However, even without it...I love this TV!

Outstanding Value

Really great picture at an exceptional price. Quite impressed with ease of setup and overall quality. As others have noted, a soundbar is required for a more dynamic audio experience, but that‘s just picking nits. Highly recommend this product.

Great picture, okay sound

Great tv with bad sound

Bought this tv after Black Friday. Very easy to set up; thank you for including screw driver and batteries. Quality of tv picture is outstanding. I love how easy it is to navigate to the various settings with the remote. Sound quality (without a sound bar) is horrible to say the least. I would welcome contact from Sceptre regarding how to set up the sound bar when using a digital antenna (I have no issues using the soundbar with Roku).

Great TV for a great price!

Just received this TV a few days ago, so will have to update later. The picture quality is beautiful! It‘s so lightweight, easy to move. It‘s awesome having 4 HDMI ports, most only have 3 (though the last one isn‘t at the same speed? as the others). The only somewhat negative part is the sound quality, it is a bit echoey. But it isn‘t a big deal.

Far better than I hoped for

I use it for a PC gaming monitor and it exceeds all my expectations. It's amazingly vivid and bright, even in daylight, has great black levels, starts up within 5 seconds due to not being an annoying smart TV, has just enough menu options for adjusting picture and is amazingly cheap for a fantastic monitor.

100% recommended for 429 dollars

Picture quality is great, Sound is not that good but I own a Sound Bar so no problem. It has a little of light bleeding at the corners but not that bad, actually you can only see it when the room is totally dark. I'm really happy that 3 out of the 4 HDMI port are 4k 60hz (HDMI 4 is 4k but 30hz), 4K movies via Netflix, Amazon Prime video and Youtube look awesome using my Roku 4. Love to use it with my PS4, Star Wars Battlefront looks really beautiful.

EXCELLENT PICTURE/PRICE

I have had 3 Sceptre tvs, all have been very good. The picture on this tv is amazing, clear, no backlight bleed, tv needs to connected to a HD source for best picture I have verizon. I called sceptre tech support to have them walk me through the set up for my set top box they were very helpful. This is very important as the set up determines the picture quality you get. The company is based in Calif. so i actually spoke to a person that spoke english. The sound can be adjusted to a average sound for a flat screen tv. If you read reviews on tv's that cost $800-900.00 you will find reviews similar to this tv. all flat screens have poor sound quality. Buy a sound bar for less than $100.00 like the vizio I bought and you will be a happy camper. I am giving this tv a 5 star for the Picture and the Price that cannot be beat and the Customer Service.

2nd Sceptre TV

Hi, This brand is not well known yet. We have had a 42 inch LCD Scepter for about 2.5 years now and it runs 10 hrs a day on average. We've never had a bit of trouble out of it. This new Scepter is a 55 inch LED 4K and it runs fine. Cableone our provider is now all digital, and the picture quality is great and the colors are vivid, the motion runs true to life even on the fastest football game. The price was very fair, and we love it. I did buy the Walmart 4 yr Care Plan since this is the new technology just to be safe.

You can't find a better deal.

This is the best deal you can get on any 4K TV. I bought at Walmart for$399, but it is a bargain at its regular price. Picture is great. I did have to work with the sound to get it right, but even with the cost of a sound bar, you would still not find a better buy. I would recommend this to any one.
