Great bargain

This television was an excellent choice of all that were on sale. Great picture and many attributes as to how to change things around. Remote control is easy to maneuver and was everything we were looking for.

I like this tv!

A friend purchased the 40" size of this same sceptre model about 3 years ago. Great tv. Picture is excellent. When the price dropped to $319 a few days before the super bowl for the 50" screen I had to buy it. Obviously, the audio sound is better when connected to a home theatre system. But, I think the bass & treble controls can be adjusted to make this tv sound pretty good without the home theatre for regular tv shows . I rate this tv a great buy at a great price.

Today is 2-12-16 and I'm writing a review based on first impressions... (I will be writing a later review after a few months.) I ordered my TV overnight on the 10th. Got it on time... Well really BEFORE expected. It was lighter than what I thought it would be. Took everything out of the package and hooked it up. I read maybe 30+ reviews before I decieded to order. To be honest I am extremely satisfied!!! The picture is very nice. Its not sope-operish.... Its movie clear! And I am a movie addict. I watch a lot of movies. And I am also electronic savvy. So it is very hard to impress me. I am very picky. But with this... as soon as I hooked it up I was extremely happy with the picture. Now the sound is just how everyone says. Terrible. I will definitely need a soundbar because I have it on 100 and it sounds like 60... Not GOOD. But as far as the tv itself I am happy with my purchase and wouldn't mind a second one for my living room.

Second Sceptre for Us

We bought a 40" Sceptre LCD a few years ago and it is still working great. So when it was time to get another TV we bought the 50" Sceptre. Very impressed, we have had this for over a year with no issues. People complain about the sound. These TV's are so thin that you are not going to be able to get good sound out of the speakers. This is the same for any brand, you are going to need a sound bar. We will be ordering the 55" Sceptre soon. We have been very happy with this brand.

Excellent !!

I did some research on the cheaper TVs and decided on this one, And I have to say the picture quality is comparable to my 65" Samsung that I paid much more for. I'm very happy with it and adding the extra insurance from Walmart I feel secure.

Excellent for the price

TV comes as shown in product picture, meaning it is complete and ready to use after attaching the stand. I wanted a TV with HDMI ports because I knew I was going to run it through a soundbar, so make sure your soundbar is HDMI capable. You can also go with a YPbPr connection. Remote is fine. I bought it knowing I wanted an inexpensive TV for a second room, so the latest and greatest TV on the market was not my concern. The 1080 HD picture is great. Others mentioned poor packaging. That was not my case. It was well protected in the box.

Great value

This TV has a great picture and it had all the correct inputs that I needed. Three HDMIs, VGA, composite and component. (but the composite and the component have to share the same audio input.) Also, HDMI #2 is also an MHL input, so that's nice. It was also extremely lightweight, which made it easy to wall mount. You just can't go wrong for the price.

Fantastic Value

Great TV for price and value, plenty of features, excellent picture, very happy with it.

The Sceptre X505BV-F 50" 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV

First, I simply could not believe the price! $300 for a 50 inch TV was not to be believed! Had it not been an ad from Walmart a noted and trusted company, I might not have made the purchase at all. As it stands I am very glad I did. Second, it is not very heavy and even comes with a stand so I do not need to worry about mounting it on the wall. It sits quite nicely on my serpentine console. And yes, the setup and the connection to roku and cable was a cinch. No problems here and it took a total of 20 to 30 minutes from getting it out of the box, onto the table and operating...

Excellent

Ten minutes out of the box it was up and running. Digital tuner picked up over thirty channels and I live thirty miles from any tower. I need to upgrade to a HD satellite receiver to take full advantage of the sets capabilities.

Excellent Price Point Purchase

We purchase this unit specifically for our floor "Zero" (basement) entertainment needs for when the grandkids come over to grandma's /grandpa's house and want to play their video games or watch their genre of movies. This is the 3rd Sceptre which we have purchase with the previous one also being a 50" and a 32" and both still going strong with no issues for over two years now....

Great picture

I just bought this tonight and I hooked it up. The picture is great but the sound really needs to be improved.

i bought tv because it was in my price range. to my surprise it shipped fast and was complete and undamaged. it a great picture the not bad but i have home theater so it is hooked up. would definitely recommend to buy.

Good product for the price...have a smaller set bySceptre and no problems so thought my daughter would like this one

Overall really great television!

The picture quality is great, the size is perfect, not too big, not too small. The design of the tv is really nice as well as thin. The only con I could find would be that the sound quality isn't great at all. Definitely get a sound bar or other form of audio because it sounds so far away.

BETTER THAN EXPECTED

I BOUGHT THIS TV A YEAR AGO AND IT HAS DONE ME MUCH JUSTICE. THE GRAPHICS ARE PRETTY GOOD, AND THE MOVIES WE WATCH ARE AMAZING WITH THE HD. THE ONLY THING I‘D RECCOMEND IS GETTING THAT SOUNDBAR BECAUSE THE SOUND ISNT THAT GREAT, BUT THE PICTURE IS AWESOME.

Sceptre 50" TV

We love it so far and it was a great price we have a samsung 50" plasma and it is just as good and a great picture would buy this brand again.

Purchased for my sister and she loves it. So far she has no problems with it. Sound, color, clarity, and everything including the price is excellent!

For the price point, a good deal!

I got special EBates deals with this TV that gave me back money and credits with other outlets, so in the end this TV cost me laess than $300, with the three year warranty, I'd say that was a great deal. The sound is left wanting, but that can be rectified.
