Has a cheap feel about it, especially the remote

The picture quality doesn't have the same depth as my Samsung or LG HDTVs. Back light intensity seems to vary all over the screen, especially the lower corners when watching DVDs? Fantastic computer monitor with the 4K resolution though! For around $400, it is an amazing price, but a regular HDTV has a better picture to me.

Can't go wrong!

We got this TV in and it seems to be great! Easy to set up with super clarity and color. Haven't been able to setup 4K yet, getting later, but should be a breeze!

This TV doesn't have smart tv feature but with a roku stick you are ...

I got this TV from tiger direct for 400+50 dollar mail-in rebate. it's been three days as of today and so far everything looks ok. This TV doesn't have smart tv feature but with a roku stick you are all set for it. Not only you can use remote control to navigate roku, I am surprised that my PS3 seems to work fine with this TV's remote. I can do everything except turning on or of my PS3. Out of 3 HDMI inputs only one is capable of displaying 4k 60hz 4:2:0 signal. The other 2 one of them is MHL 1060p 60HZ and 4K 30HZ capable. I have no way of testing 4K 60 hz but using my laptop I've been able to test 4K 25hz and of course resolution is stunning. So, for the price point having a 60hz 4k is a steal. I was going to buy a 1080p tv since my tv died the other day, surprisingly I realized this TV has good upconverting capabilities even from 720p (PS3 can can only show Hi-res 1080p YouTube videos as 720p) Of course netflix is is even better with 1080p resolution. To sum, I went out to buy a 1080p tv and ended up buying this 4k tv. So Iam happy with it. If there is anyone out there who can test the 4k 60hz HDMI port. I'd appreciate your comments.

Really good value

Full-screen media (without black bars) looks great on the U500. To see pixels you need to get your face practically on the screen. Up-scaling works very well, I have played many DVDs, as well as Blu-Rays, and they all look great. I‘m using a Sony blu-ray player, which works nicely with the Sceptre remote codes. If you need a perfect picture you should spend more on a TV with localized dimming and higher contrast ratios. On the U500 you will see back-lighting glare on blacks, which is particularly noticeable on media with black bars. The U500 also has a contrast ratio of only 1200:1 (so you will sometimes see banding in sky images). I‘m using all three HDMI ports. CEC works with my blu-ray player - turn on the blu-ray player, and the TV turns on and switches to the HDMI port. Another one or two ports would be helpful for future growth, especially with the component video ports being shared with the composite video port (which is very common on TVs these days). I have a Wii hooked up using the composite video, and the Wii picture looks great. I also have a leaf antenna connected to the co-ax input, and over-the-air digital signals look great too. The USB port is ...to be honest... almost a joke. It is limited to 2GB. These days you‘d be hard-pressed to find a USB stick under 8GB! It also only plays JPG pictures and MP3 music. It would be nice if a firmware upgrade would enhance this, but I suspect the TV‘s processor can‘t support MPG video, or more than 2GB. The sound from the TV is acceptable, and has adequate volume. I also bought a Sceptre sound bar, since I got the TV at such a good price on Black Friday, and my biggest gripe is that the U500 has a SPDIF optical output (red laser), but the soundbar only has a SPDIF co-ax input. So I‘m left with using the TV "line-out" to feed the sound bar. It does improve the sound, but I would expect the SPDIF to do better. Anyway, that is an issue with the sound bar, and not the TV. Decent TV for a great price

I bought this last week when I saw it really cheap. I just hooked it up and the picture is pretty good. The audio leaves a bit to be desired though. I played some MP3s from a USB drive and it sounded like a 30 year old radio with one speaker.

LG, Samsung, Move over!

I never heard of Sceptre until a few months ago while I was looking for a new TV. I compare it to the big boys and I was sold. I‘ve recommended Sceptre Tv to everyone I know and at least ten of my friends are very happy with me, and their new TV.
