Very good value for the price.
For the money I paid for this set, it far exceeded my expectations. I should note off the bat that this set does NOT have HDR or any smart features, but I did not require smart features as I have a Roku and HDR is not all that impressive unless you want to spend a very large amount of money on a set that does it right.
Design: The set looks very nice from the front. It has a brushed metallic bezel at its front which gives it a nicer look. The screen is glossy so if there is a source of light parallel to the screen, issues could be had. A somewhat bright LED is in the bottom-left corner which turns blue when the set is on, but red when the set is off. The set’s bezel is slim and there is a chrome “Sceptre†logo at the center-bottom which looks nice. In terms of thickness, the set is not super-thin. It’s moderately thick for a LED but juts out further at the center of its back where the ports/power cord are located. All ports are easy to access either from the side or bottom. The power cord is attached directly to the set and cannot be removed. The VESA mounting points (400 x 200) jut out a little and are not obstructed, so the set is easy to mount or attach an aftermarket base to. The biggest knock on the design is that the cable/antenna coax input looks like it was hastily added to the set and wobbles a little when you move it or an attached coax cable, but the tuner works for for my antenna.
Picture: Outstanding for the price. My TV does have a single dead pixel (not noticeable unless you’re very close to the TV and specifically looking for it), which is unfortunate but common on 4k displays. Other than that, I have no complaints. There are no major backlight bleed issues that I can see and the panel uniformity seems good. Black levels are surprisingly good and motion blur is not an issue. Unlike a lot of “off-brand†TVs, you can adjust the backlight, which is a very welcome addition. The MEMC Setting (the 120hz effect) helps a little with motio
