So Far, Pretty Impressed
We‘ve been waiting for an opportunity to snag a 4K TV at an affordable price for months. Luckily, we picked this one up on a Cyber-Monday deal for crazy cheap. So, we went in knowing we weren‘t buying a flagship product with every bell and whistle imaginable.
Saying this though, for what we payed, It exceeded expectations. The build quality is great, especially being shipped with metallic legs rather than cheap plastic snap-ons like other products costing double. It should be noted that the legs spread to the scale of the TV, so finding a surface wide enough to support it was admittedly difficult
The screen is impressive, especially for the price. Streaming 4K content from an amazon fire-stick is no problem. The overall-color reproduction is a substantial improvement compared to any product we‘ve ever owned before. 60fps video is smooth, especially with help from integrated MEMC.
This display may lack the newest technology in screens like HDR, 240hz refresh rate, advanced pixel displacent, etc., yet these are new features to the market and warrant paying 1000‘s of dollars, which we didn‘t.
The speakers are a disappointment. Had to skimp somewhere in the budget, right?. In our situation, we own many setups for sound, so bypassing built in speakers was no problem. However, being that the TV settings are pretty bare-bones, it would be nice to see a firmware update that provides extra settings for using external sound devices, like having a volume control differential (fixed vs. variable).
Overall, we are impressed. For paying less than $250, we got a product that performs in ways that satisfy our needs. Plain and simple.
