Some quirks but not a bad deal
Good deal for the money, flaws aside. The sound is not great, but not as bad as other commenters say -- see good advice on how to tweak it from "Sound of Silence" and "Josh the TV Son." Picture was disappointing at first, but improved greatly after going into Advanced Picture Settings and turning on MEMC, as advised by the company in setup instructions. The auto channel search for over the air broadcast stations seems weak -- it failed to pick up a couple channels that come through on another household TV, and Sceptre support said there is no way to add them manually. Perhaps they will be picked up by re-running the auto search on a strong broadcast day. The remote is simple and easy, although the buttons on the TV for manual use are on the bottom front and not the side as stated by the user manual. Otherwise, it seems fine after a week of viewing.
