Great performance and features
I purchased this TV to use in my RV and, when not traveling, in the kitchen. Important features to me:
- High sensitivity tuner for over-the-air (OTA) viewing in fringe areas
- Analog and digital (QAM) cable tuner for connecting in some RV parks
- HDMI input for Roku or Chromecast stick
- USB jack that powers Roku or Chromecast stick
- External audio (headphone) output for connection to my RV speakers
- Low power consumption
The E195BV-SRR meets all of the above criteria. After unboxing, I checked the OTA tuner and got 29 channels on my home antenna (fringe area) and scanned my cable system and got dozens of channels. This should work fine most anywhere I travel. I was able to turn it into a smart TV by adding a Chromecast to the HDMI input, and power it with a short cable to the USB port. That eliminates a separate power unit. The headphone jack provided a good signal to my RV‘s audio system, but disabled the internal speakers with the cable plugged in. Unfortunately the TV menu‘s speaker on/off switch did not work with the headphone cable plugged in.
One feature that this unit did not have is a 12V input. Apparently only certain older Sceptre 19" models have this, with the newer models having a built-in power supply and non-detachable cord. Therefore I will have to use a power inverter when running solely off the camper battery. There are competing 19" TV‘s with 12V inputs, but they cost several hundred dollars, and may have older generation tuners.
When not traveling, we will use this in the kitchen at home replacing a 24" model that was just too big. The 19" screen is really a nice size for this room, and the picture quality is very good with nice contrast. The TV has a fairly wide viewing angle--perhaps better than older models. Audio was not great, but about what is expected from such a small TV. I have not played with the extensive audio settings and graphic equalizer.
The remote control is a
