Great TV for the Price
Although the manual for this TV mentions that the TV (ATSC) tuner is optional for this model, the TV came with a tuner -- and it works quite well. (I have an attic antenna and can cleanly pick up a TV station about 40 miles away.) And I'm very happy with the picture quality. On the other hand, the new TV's sound is decidedly tinny. (And the software tricks that this and other TVs try to use to compensate just don't work.) The integrated DVD player (not Blu-Ray) loads like a car's CD player, but is a bit awkward to reach. Moreover it's a bit noisy. One of the things I've always admired about Sceptre TVs is that that use Sony's TV remote control codes, which makes using third-party remote controls a breeze. Still, there must be some variations, as my old Sceptre's remote only works partially on the new TV. Likewise for my Fios remote. (Biggest problem is selecting input.) Bottom line: This is a *very* nice TV for the price. Just be aware of its limitations.
