TOP POSITIVE REVIEW

By On January 03 00:00:00 , 2013

Pros: Works perfectly. Very good picture quality. Feather light weight. Extremely low power use, 12-18 watts.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Power use and weight did matter here since I installed it in my boat. Based on those two, it's easily best-in-class.

Decent

Pros: Good for the price, Great bedroom t.v

Cons: Sound isn't the greatest

Awesome

Pros: Viewing angle is superb! I mounted this in my daughter's room on their wall. They both can see all the colors displayed at every angle even from their beds. I am very impressed with this TV. I own a 50" 720p Samsung plasma in the living room, a 32" 1080p Vizio in my bedroom, and a 27" 1080p Westinghouse in my other daugther's room. The picture is as good as my Vizio but better viewing angles, not as great as the plasma vivid wise but absolutely destroys the Westinghouse for all reasons.

Cons: It says Sceptre on it. LOL

Other Thoughts: I am VERY IMPESSED with Sceptre. Can't beat the $150 price tag if the $50 rebate shows up. *crosses fingers* The Sceptre makes all of my other flat panel TVs look old. It's certainly the thinnest TV in the house.

Dont let the name turn you off

Pros: First off, I don't have this specific set. I have the 32" 1080p model, but I'm assuming everything else is exact. I've had this set for over a year now and it literally gets 16-24 hours of use per day. Most of the times because I crash out with it still on, but then others are using it too. It has not failed me, I've lost no pixels, and there is no indication of how bad I've really treated this thing. The price offered here is excellent, and you will get a lot of use out of it. I originally bought it as a monitor to game on my PC, but now I use it to watch movies and online shows too.

Cons: There were a couple things out of the box that simply didn't work. The clock itself doesn't keep time, which has Zero consequence to me, but is annoying. I wanted to use the TVs speakers as the center channel of a 5.1 setup. I have a 5.1 setup on my computer, and since the existing center speaker is so small, I figured I would keep the surround speakers, but utilize the TV because it's speakers are bigger than my existing center. Even though the connections are there, I couldn't make it happen, and talking to tech support was ZERO help...they just advised me not to use the TV's speakers at all.

Other Thoughts: Overall the picture is crisp with a good HD source, and it's durable, and most of all stays pretty cool even after long sessions. Looks pretty bad if you're running 480p or standard definition, but I'm probably spoiled. This has been an excellent buy for me..not one regret, and I would buy a Sceptre again without hesitation.

Very Decent TV

Pros: This TV offers so much more than I expected. Nice brilliant colors. Even old movies look great. Has many ways to adjust and fine tune for a better picture and has much more. All in all, for the price, a very good TV.

Cons: The only problem is the sound was not good. Went into the sound settings and equalizer and adjusted, that helped a little, sound was alot better. Decided to add a pair of $20 computer speakers and WOW it sounds great. Yes, well worth the price I paid.

Great buy

Pros: Great picture, decent sound which can be adjusted from OSD.

Cons: none

Great Bedroom TV and doubles as a PC monitor

Pros: Many inputs - 3 HDMI, Component, Composite, VGA, RF.
Multiple sound inputs and outputs
Very good picture
Lightweight, easily works with even light wall mounts
Remote uses Sony codes
All the important buttons are on the side in case you can't find your remote.

Cons: Sound is mediocre at best, but it works

Other Thoughts: This makes an excellent small room TV. You can even use it as a PC monitor so long as you realize it is not a desktop monitor to be used with a two foot viewing distance! Four to twelve feet is ideal and perfect for this TV. Sound is adequate, but even a pair of PC speakers will improve it. A 2.1 amplified system is ideal.

With a PC attached (or Smart Disc player), you can watch Youtube vids, streaming HD events, etc. in high resolution almost as good as Cable/Sat TV.

Get it

Pros: Crystal clear
Built in tuner works well
Built in TV guide features episode plots, run times, etc.
Great customer service
Good speakers

Cons: Came with non-functioning remote (see below)

Other Thoughts: Some buttons on the remote didn't work so I called customer support, within 30 seconds I had a customer support technician asking me for my name and address son he could ship me a new remote for free. I was expecting ton have to pay shipping, but I just gave him my model and serial number and he had it shipped out for me.

Bottom line for this price it has great features, great picture, and the customer service makes me confident that I won't have any problems in the future.

Great LED TV

Pros: -Great display for gaming on PC and consoles
-Good deal
-Good variety of TV settings
-Nice number of inputs
-Extremely light

Cons: -Somewhat long turn on time
-Speakers aren't the best
-Few input problems early on (Haven't had any for awhile though)

Other Thoughts: For the amount of money I spent on it, I am certainly getting my moneys worth. The speakers are the only real issue in my opinion and are the reason that I rated it 4/5. I'm sure with a little tweaking in the settings, it can be improved a little bit but you can tell that they are pretty cheap. I currently use it as a monitor for my desktop and a TV for gaming and Netflix on my Xbox and I have had no issues.

I definitely recommend this TV for people looking for a good sized HD LED display for a relatively good price. If you are looking for a long-term, high quality display however, I'd recommend you keep saving for a bigger name brand TV.
