Great 4k TV For the Money!

Right out of the box, this Sceptre 4K 40" Ultra HDTV blew my mind by the incredible 4K picture, great sound, and 4 HDMIs (2 with the new 2.0 HDMIs!) ports and all for the incredible low Walmart price of $249.99 before tax! .. I own a Sony PS4 and this 4k TV is a great gaming TV for the price for all you gamers out there! .. I can use this 4k TV as a computer monitor if I want to too for all you computer users! .. The remote control is very light weight and very functional (batteries are included!).. This 4k TV's menus are easy to navigate and use for those wanting to know this as well! .. Wal-Mart's Store Pick Up is fast and easy with the free shipping on this TV - 2 Business Days and it can be in your hands! .. I will let you all know too that I owned a VIZIO 32" HDTV previously that I paid $279.99 6 years ago at Wal-Mart .. What I can tell you all that it's nothing like this Sceptre 4K Ultra HDTV for the price! Would I get another Sceptre 4k Ultra HDTV? .. Yes! .. Would I recommend this 4k TV to a friend? .. Yes!

Good TV for use as a monitor

Using this as a monitor, in office setting, running at 30hz due to old graphics cards, but that's fine for spreadsheets, pdfs etc. Had to tweak backlight, contrast etc to make it look right, but after that is been great. Haven't used the speakers at all.

Alot of value here

4K, 1080P Tv, Stream 4K Netflix with a Roku or
xbox 1s, fantastic picture. Regular 1080p HD looks great too.
No HDR, but colors look great.

This TV continues to impress me. Very Sharp with 1080p picture. Better than my LG 1080p and just as good as my Sony 1080p tv. 4k in video games and Netflix really cool. As far as Sound goes like all TV's is not big sound. However sound is just as good as the others in this size category. The blacks are very black and the colors pop. One negative is that if you are in a far off viewing angle the picture does fade slightly. Again prob no different than others in this category. It's worth buying.

O.K. TV poor sound - but GREAT monitor

I'm using this TV as a 4K display for my computer. Despite reviews to the contrary, I had no issues running this at 3840x2160 at 60Hz. You just need to set your display adapter to 60 Hz as it will likely default to 30. To do so in Windows 10: right click desktop, display settings, advanced display settings, then display adapter properties. Under the Monitor tab change the refresh rate to 60 Hertz. Since this is a TV and not a computer monitor, if using it as such you will have to experiment to find the best settings to get a picture to your liking. In my case having the TV set to "game mode" was the best starting place. I also found text to be much sharper after turning the "sharpness" setting all the way down to zero, and lowering the default brightness considerably. Overall as a TV this set is o.k. The built in digital tuner works fine with a regular TV antenna. (I don't use cable.) The picture can be stunning with 4K content (some YouTube and Netflix videos for example). However the sound from the built-in speakers is what I would consider very poor. The sound is rather hollow and thin. There are both typical bass / treble adjustments as well as a 5 position equalizer available in the setup menu. Some users might be able to find a setting to their liking, but in my opinion there's only so much you can do and you still won't hear much of an improvement. Not a problem for my application because I'm using much better external speakers. Overall for the price this set is a very good deal. (Especially if you get it on sale.) When used as a 4K computer monitor you can get a very clear picture after some fine tuning with the settings. In my case, I now have a HUGE 40" display for much less than the price of a 28-32" 4k computer monitor. About the only thing I'm giving up is ultra fast refresh rates. I don't do much gaming so that is not a big deal to me.

Sceptre is outstanding

This is my second Sceptre television. I had purchased a 24" about 18 months ago and it worked flawlessly. This 40" UHD television was shipped to me with no damage. The picture is excellent although I have yet to try a 4k video. If you want to have good quality and save some money then go with Sceptre.

great for the price

Picture is amazing my games on my Xbox One S have never looked better. Sound is pretty bad but I just turned the speakers off and use separate speakers.

Good deal, one dead pixel on arrival, but not a big enough deal to return, everything else is solid value for the price.

Surprisingly good 4K set for movies and Xbox Gaming

I was looking for a 4K set to equip and room with an Xbox One S for gaming and for 4K movies. I found this $200 Spectre just before Christmas and decided to take a chance on it, but I also picked up the two year support contract just in case (it was cheap). The other reviews were right in that it is perfect for Xbox gaming. I was surprised how good it looked versus my LGs and Vizio. The LG looks better, but the Vizio is really not as good for contrast and color versus this Spectre. The viewing angle of this display is wide and was unexpected for this price range. The inputs are great with four HDMIs and the remote is decent too. The sound is pretty much average for lower priced sets like this and does not compare to my LG, however for news and sitcoms, and simple gaming it is fine. If you want it loud, get a soundbar. I want it loud so I am looking for a soundbar. Even at the current price it is still a bargain in my opinion and I would buy it again in an instant.

Sceptre is the best

I'm a previous Sceptre owner, after 10+ years, it was time to upgrade. This brand is the best! I couldn't be happier

I bought this 4K UHD TV from Walmart, I have had for 1 week, the picture is vibrant, I have a 4K Roku Stick and it‘s streaming flawlessly, I also added a sound bar, it‘s working perfectly for Me, I have no complaints, and Love the price, great buy.

Amazing picture when viewing 4k content

Don't trust any of the reviews that say this thing has a bad "picture". I guarantee you that they aren't running any true 4k content to the tv. I bought this to go with my ps4 pro. The PS4 pro upconverts all of my games and they look fantastic on the tv. Battlefield 1, Ratchet and Clank, and Uncharted 4 look insane. Audio isin't great at first, but if you go into the EQ settings on the tv and max out the bass and treble, it doesn't sound half bad. This is an incredible deal at $200. I challenge you to find even a 40" 1080p at this price.

I love this tv. Was sceptible at first as I had not heard of this brand. Awesome picture, no problems with the sound as I think others may have stated. Mine is on top of my chest of drawers caticorner to the walls. Gave it only a 4 because I have not used all the features. Price was main reason for initial buy.
